CineCHEF is a Boulder International Film Fest (BIFF) signature event that challenges eight of Boulder’s nationally-recognized chefs to create film-inspired dishes based on a movie theme. Participating chefs include Steven Redzikowski, Chef/Owner, Oak at Fourteenth; Daniel Asher, Chef/Partner, River and Woods; Jen Bush, Pastry Chef, Lucky’s Bakehouse & Creamery; Laurent Mechin, Executive Chef & Culinary Director, St. Julien Hotel & Spa; John Platt, Chef/Proprietor Riffs Urban Fare; and Sam Parrett, Chef de Cuisine, Jax Restaurant. Stay tuned for the addition of two more renowned chefs to the lineup.
How it works: Held during BIFF, Boulder’s top chefs create movie-themed tasting stations serving small plates based on their chosen theme. In addition, guests will enjoy Francis Ford Coppola wines and local beers, while mingling with chefs and festival VIPs. Attendees will vote on their favorite dish, and the winning chef takes home a coveted BIFF award trophy.
Admission price to CineCHEF includes a screening of the acclaimed new film Ella Brennan: Commanding the Table, about the inspirational matriarch of a New Orleans restaurant empire that includes the legendary Commander’s Palace. The screening is at 7:15pm at Boulder’s First Presbyterian Church on Friday, March 3; bring your CineCHEF ticket for access.
