Hickory & Ash
Muddling along at Hickory & Ash.

In Denver’s pre-foodie days, the scene was pretty bleak, but one chef stood out for his pioneering efforts to elevate dining in the Mile High City. Kevin Taylor was THE name for decades. Today, after a break to decompress, he is back and contributing in a new way, working side-by-side with his sons to launch a top-notch dining destination in an underserved area. Hickory & Ash, in a new development in Broomfield next to the First Bank Center, is far from the over-stuffed, uber-competitive city center dining melee that Taylor’s previous restaurants served. Self- described as a “meatery,” choice cuts of meat are highlighted – but vegetarian fare is also expertly prepared.

Based on the experience of a recent sneak peek dining preview with samples of various dishes, the Taylors have much to offer any diner who seeks a quality meal. And lots of free parking is a welcome bonus!

Paired with carefully crafted seasonal cocktails, most crafted with locally-produced spirits from distillers like Mad Rabbit, the tasting menu included…

Hickory & Ash
Get started at Hickory & Ash with Burrata Toast with smashed pea, mint and baby peppers; Chicken Wings and Lobster Bisque.
Hickory & Ash
Sampling of Hickory & Ash’s Colorado Striped Bass Veracruz.
Hickory & Ash
Short Rib Pastrami with Brussels sprouts, mustard and pumpernickel.
Hickory & Ash
A chocolate/raspberry bon-bon of sorts with athe Raspberry Polama cocktail with Cuidado Blanco, raspberry and fresno chili.

Attractive and casual, this is a welcome dining stand-out for the area. Dinner only starts on July 7, with lunch, brunch and happy hour offerings soon to follow – watch their site for details.

Hickory & Ash is located at 8001 Arista Place, Ste. 150 in Broomfield.
