Wouldn’t you know! Technical difficulties prevented us from publishing this on time so we’re starting with Wednesday. Let’s just think of it as a short week.
Wednesday, April 5
Plan your summer and fall cabin staycation at the YMCA of the Rockies (Snow Mountain Ranch & Estes Park Center) – The coveted reservations sell out quickly. Cabins are available with 2, 3, or 4-bedrooms and are fully furnished (most are pet-friendly, too). How? Online: April 5 at 12:01am (MT) at www.ymcarockies.org; Phone: April 5th at 7 am (MT) 888-613-9622
Happy Hour at GQue – Check out GQue’s new Happy Hour menu, running 2-5pm offering beer specials plus BBQ Fries with shredded pork and cheese sauce for $6; Turkey, brisket or pork sliders for $2.50 – $3 each; and BBQ pork nachos for $8 or beef nachos for $9.
Thursday, April 6
Darling! Fashion Fundraiser – Attend the annual fundraising event for the nonprofit MOPS International that honors and celebrates local mothers of preschoolers. Preview Evereve’s spring 2017 clothes line, be entertained by the improv comedy group Theater off the Cuff and enjoy food prepared by Footers Catering.
Ocean Prime will be giving away complimentary bags of the restaurant’s signature Truffle Popcorn to any guests having dinner before attending a show at Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), or attending a concert. All guests have to do is mention they’re attending a show or a concert after dinner, and they’ll receive a gift-wrapped bag of Truffle Popcorn to enjoy on their way to the show or during intermission.
Friday, April 7
Build Bikes for local second graders on Rockies Opening Day at CHUBurger – Build bikes, help fit helmets and adjust seats for the entire second grade class at Wyatt Academy. All tools necessary are provided. CHUBurger will provide food and beer for volunteers.
Another way to celebrate opening day is with a few $5-ers at Postino Winecafe. For just $5 on Opening Day, Postino’s all-day Happy Hour gets you $5 wines by the glass and $5 pitchers of draft beer until 5pm. Pair your beverage with a signature bruschetta board, Butcher’s Block meat and cheese plate, or a rustic Panini sandwich.
If you aren’t being baseball-centric, make a Polynesian evening of it at Denver Botanic Gardens’ Off the Clock: Palms & Pineapples event with dances and music by the Kalama Polynesian Dancers. Make lei’s to take home, take a free ukulele lesson and wander the lush, sultry conservatory after dark.
Sunday, April 9
Keystone’s Annual Slush Cup – Keystone Resort’s annual end-of-season Slush Cup returns with a family-friendly affair that features pond skimming competitions for both kids and adults.
Any event is more fun when you can let someone else do the driving. Why don’t you get a lift from Lyft! Use our exclusive code, IGTD2016 with the Lyft App for a $50 credit toward your first rides. For new users only.
