Valentine’s season is a big time in the restaurant world. It’s a great time for chefs to conceive of some extra special, sensual, positive-feeling-inducing menu selections. Here are some of the Valentine’s dinner offerings around the metro area we found to be In Good Taste:
bar helix is hosting an evening called “Love the One You’re With,” featuring owner Kendra Anderson’s “soulmate pairings,” the perfect match of champagne/beer/cocktail paired with complimentary sweet and savory small plates. Catch the pairings on Wednesday February 14 from 4pm-close with a three-course food and beverage menu for $49, consisting of champagne, beer and cocktails paired with bar helix’s savory and sweet small plates. Fooducopia is offering a three course menu for $99 per couple, February 13-17. Options for the first course include roasted baby carrots with a balsamic bitter chocolate syrup, lamb chops with coffee and chocolate crust for a second course and peanut butter and chocolate bread pudding for dessert. Hearth & Dram has a deal for $65 per person. Guests can enjoy a four-course menu with highlights that include beef tartare with toast, confit egg yolk and sunflower oil; parsnip agnolotti with truffle, celery root, artichoke and beech mushrooms; strip loin with potato pave, roasted mushrooms and whiskey sauce; and chocolate mousse with fior di latte ice cream. Jill’s Restaurant located within Boulder’s St Julien Hotel & Spa will feature a romantic four-course menu. For $59.95 per person, an amuse bouche of vegan potato latkes is followed by choice of lobster cobb salad, minestrone or eggplant medallions with grilled jumbo asparagus; choice of vegan moussaka lasagna, pan-seared red snapper or scallions and grilled jumbo prawns; and finally, vanilla bean and buttermilk panna cotta or Valrhona triple chocolate Napoleon. LOW Country Kitchen is offering two Valentine’s Day specials. Sparkling Wine Pairing: For $70, enjoy six pieces of buttermilk fried chicken, two sides and sparkling wine – choose from Jean Philippe Blanquette de Limoux, Gruet Blanc de Blancs, or Domaine Allimant-Laugner Cremant D’Alsace Rosé. And Champagne Pairing: For $115, sip Duval Leroy Brut Reserve Champagne, paired with six pieces of buttermilk fried chicken and a choice of two sides, including collard greens, mac & cheese with aged cheddar, jalapeño cheddar cornbread, seasonal sautéed veggies, boiled peanuts and more.
Marcella’s Ristorante Pizzeria and Wine Bar is offering special dishes for Valentine’s Day through February 18 including: Saffron crab mascarpone ravioli; Spring pea and parmesan onion risotto topped with pan-seared scallop; and Strawberry and chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream, chocolate ganache and a chocolate covered strawberry. Marcella’s will also be offering a special “Galentines Day” deal especially for ladies celebrating with their girlfriends for $40 per person. Ocean Prime is offering a special prix fixe dinner for Valentine’s Day. The menu includes a special cocktail, the Prime Sparkler ($12), made with Prosecco, Grenadine, House Made Sour Mix, and Orange Bitters; Wagyu Manhattan Filet Mignon ($59), served with wild mushroom brandy jus and toasted leeks; Crab Crusted Sea Bass ($42), served with asparagus, corn emulsion, and leek butter; and Raspberry Cheesecake with macadamia nut crust and raspberry sauce ($13). Que Bueno Suerte! will be offering guests complimentary chocolate covered strawberries and glasses of champagne with dinner on Valentine’s Day. The menu, comprised of traditional Yucatecan dishes with elements of modern Latin fusion, will be served a la carte, featuring shared plates, soups and salads, tacos and Que Bueno classics, like queso fundido. Stir Cooking School is having Date-Night classes with couples creating five new dishes followed by dining family-style upstairs in Stir’s dining room. Classes in February include Celebrate Mardis Gras – February 13th; Romantic Dinner for Two – February 14th; and Celebrating Love – February 15th.

With each meal ordered on the 14th, Rosemary Shortbread Cookies from Ruby Jean Patisserie will be included (rosemary is known to have aphrodisiac qualities).
The Fort is offering a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day for $59 per person. The three-course meal features a six-ounce buffalo filet mignon paired with four-ounces of Alaskan sockeye salmon, topped with a chili honey glaze, and served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables for the main. The Nickel has you heading straight for dessert. For $25, the special includes: Lemon Pavlova (blueberry Cupid’s cloud, white chocolate, candied rose petal) + Port for two. For reservations, call (720) 889-2128.
Thirsty Lion has a special menu including Ahi Poke Stack, Grilled Atlantic Salmon and Filet Mignon, which is Pepper bacon wrapped, grilled with roasted garlic herb butter and served with white cheddar mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. For dessert, there’s a Salted Caramel Apple Cheesecake with cinnamon graham cracker crust, brandy glazed Granny Smith apples, pecan streusel, Myers’ Rum caramel sauce and whipped cream.
Tupelo Honey is serving up a “Chicken Fried Love” menu alongside the regular dinner menu on February 14, featuring the one and only: fried chicken. For $45, enjoy two fried chicken plates, one shared appetizer and two mini-mason jar desserts, while a bottle of sparkling wine can be added for $20. Uncorked Kitchen will be serving up an exclusive Valentine’s Prix Fixe Menu in their Wine Bar on February 14th, 15th, and 16th along with the option to add on either Custom Wine Pairings or Reserve Wine Pairings to the four course menu. Sample menu items include Oysters, Fresh Pasta, Lobster Bisque, Braised Short Ribs, Pan-seared Scallops, and Chocolate Mousse. Reservations are strongly encouraged, and are available for groups of 2-4 people.
Vesta has cooked up a menu of romantic dishes available through February 17. Options include braised oxtail raviolo served with sauce American, toasted garlic and micro beet green; prosciutto wrapped halibut with Vesta’s 20-month house cured prosciutto, halibut filet and cauliflower risotto. Wild Standard has a three-course prix fixe menu planned. It starts with options like wild king salmon tartare with sesame, ginger, sambal, tamari, avocado and house made taro chips or trio for two, which includes Dungeness crab cakes, mirepoix, yuzu-saffron aioli, Spanish octopus escabeche and cocktail shrimp. The second course includes Maine lobster capellini or grass-fed beef tenderloin with potato gratin, garlic seared escarole and tapenade hollandaise. Dessert is the You drive me bananas with Caramelia milk chocolate, organic banana cake, mango and malted milk or an artisan chocolate tasting with a variety of rich and decadent options. $65 per person, available on February 14.
