The holiday season is upon us (yikes!) so a few of our picks for What’s In Good Taste this week involve giving you the heads up to make reservations for some special happenings. In other news, there’s food galore – some of it cheap and some of it free. Go get it!
Monday, November 6
The Corner Office offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 3-6pm but it goes until closing on Mondays. You see where I’m going with this, right? Monday’s are just icky so it’s nice to know you can lounge a bit at The Corner Office and enjoy their classic martini bar atmosphere. All martinis and cocktails on the happy menu are $7. They suggest pairing the old fashioned with the kale skirt steak.
It’s National Nacho Day, don’tcha know. We’re sure lots of places are having specials but Punch Bowl Social’s vegetarian option caught our eye. They are serving Nacho Mama, a stack of corn tortilla chips topped with queso fundido, roasted cauliflower, jalapeño, pickled red onion, jalapeño crema and cilantro. Yes, please, we’ll eat ALL our veggies!
Tuesday, November 7
The Bindery is now open in The Highlands. Check them out for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. They have an assortment of fresh-baked breads, classic coffees, handmade pastries, salads, sandwiches and gourmet to go meals to enjoy at home. We have our eye on the A Walk in the Woods breakfast sandwich with king oyster mushrooms, spinach, swiss cheese, sunny egg, lemon aioli, seeded bun for $7.
Wednesday, November 8
Make reservations now to head to the hills over Thanksgiving. YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and Snow Mountain Ranch are both having a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving with lots of fun activities before and after for families to enjoy. Also, take advantage of the 110th Anniversary special to save on lodge rooms at Thanksgiving and the rest of 2017 with rooms available for $84 per night, to be used by Dec. 31, 2017. Plus, each room includes two free breakfasts each day. We love both places. Read about our experiences, here.
Register to attend a dinner with a good cause. Emmerson owner, Bed Kaplan and his team wanted to support and provide relief to the many under/uninsured workers employed at the affected wineries. So on Monday, November 13, Emmerson is hosting a special wine dinner in a partnership with Natural Wine Company amd will donate the profits to the Winemakers and Sommeliers for California Wildfire Relief organization. The four-course dinner includes Gruyere Gougeres with trout roe and bacon aioli, Lobster Orange beurre blanc and Mushroom and Salsify Risotto. Call the restaurant at 303.953.9852. Reservations are limited to the first 20.
Thursday, November 9
GQue Championship BBQ is celebrating their second anniversary by giving away free Pulled Pork or Carolina sandwiches for the second year in a row as a way to say thank you to the community for their support. The restaurant opens at 11am and has 250 sandwiches to give away. Shall we start a #CampOutForBBQ trend?
