We love Ace Eat Serve, or just “Ace” as those in-the-know call it. It’s one of those rare places where everything we have, every time we go, is exceptional. We can’t say that about a lot of places, frankly, and sadly. The quality, flavor, and presentation is always on-point at Ace and the prices are fair for what you’re getting. It’s one of those places that hubby and I say, “Why don’t we come here more often? It’s so good!” like, every time we go. So, when we found out they are now serving Sunday brunch, we were on it!

Service just launched in late June, Sundays from 10am-2pm, somewhat quietly (no signs on the door, no sandwich board outside as of when we went). Rightly so, they were testing out the menu, easing into things, making sure they got it all right before really shouting it to the world. Let us be among those shouting loud and strong: YOU NEED TO GO TO ACE FOR BRUNCH!
Chef Thach Tran, one of the most approachable guys ever, and his culinary team developed a menu that takes your average, and expected, brunch offerings and turns them on their ear. More than just incorporating an Asian influence, Chef Thach combines flavors, textures, colors and even aesthetics to provide items that are delicious, interesting to eat and scream out for photos because, as you know, #TheCameraEatsFirst.

Here’s what’s new on the brunch menu at Ace Eat Serve:
ENTREES at Brunch
Moons Over Miyabi: A plentiful breakfast sandwich made with slices of griddled spam, scrambled eggs and cheddar with the crispy potato cubes and a drizzle of kewpie mayo.

Taiyaki Chicken & Waffles: Savory waffles in the shape of open-mouthed fish are the vehicle for fried chicken tenders dipped in a house spicy ranch. If you don’t get the fish waffle in this dish, you have another chance in dessert below. We saw a group of six, strapping young men, all order this Chicken & Waffles dish, all fins up. It was quite a site.
Hong Shao Rou Pork Belly Hash: A loud “mmmmmmm!”-inducing combo of pork belly with breakfast potatoes and Hatch green chiles. We loved the heat mixed with oozing egg yolk.

Japanese Pancake: The tall, fluffy and light pancake served in a cast-iron skillet with mango kaffir lime syrup.
Scallion Pancake: Delicious and topped with eggs and shoestring fries ready for dipping in the kewpie mayo.

There are also favorites from their regular menu like the Kimchi Fried Rice, Tiger Wings, and Bao Donuts. Entree prices range from $2-$16.

DESSERTS at Ace Eat Serve’s Sunday Brunch
Fried Sesame Balls: Filled with red bean or taro paste.
Ice Cream Waffle Cone: You’ll never look at an ice cream cone the same way again. It’s the same open-mouthed fish waffle from above, but this time, it’s face down in dessert (we’ve all been there, really). Ice cream flavors include Matcha Lemon, Ube, Passion Fruit Coconut, Blueberry Sorbet and Lemongrass Pear Sorbet. ($9)

Egg Tart: A light puff pastry crust filled with a refreshing baked custard, strawberry-mango fruit salad and whipped cream.
BRUNCH BEVERAGES at Ace’s Sunday Brunch
Fuel your day with one of their caffeine drinks such as Ice Matcha Latte, a French Press, Thai Iced Tea, or Vietnamese Iced Tea plus others, ($3-$8) . Booze it up a little with the very unique Let’s Get Ducked Up Kimchi bloody mary blend, aquavit, oyster juice, sriracha, a peking duck fat wash and other unique ingredients ($13). Sunday Shenanigans with Aperol, Mezcal, pickled pepper juice, lime juice and Peychaud’s Bitters ($11), or go zero-proof, like we did, with The T-Bird, a beauty with Hibiscus-infused soda, lime juice and muddled mint and cucumber for $6.
To complete the Sunday funday brunch experience at Ace, there are also free DJ sets on the patio. Speaking of the patio, a good portion of Ace’s space is wide open and airy with a covered patio and a huge, wrap-around umbrella’d patio that has plenty of seating and a couple of ping pong tables. But the real pong action happens inside in their pong table room. So, there’s plenty of seating, inside and out. Reservations are recommended though to make sure you get to sit where you want, when you want.
