I almost hate to admit this. When my friends and I were newly legal to drink, new to our careers and short on money, we’d make a dinner out of going to happy hours. Back then, there were places that had a literal buffet of fried stuff – delicious fried stuff like egg rolls, chicken nuggets, wontons, wings, and pizza rolls. The only veggies were celery and carrot sticks for the chicken wings. For the price of a drink, typically a Gin & Tonic (the cheapest thing), we’d feast. Well, we thought we were feasting. Thankfully, happy hours are much better now. More expensive, yes, but the variety and quality is supremely better. Here’s our curated list of Happy Hour Deals for this year. Note that the information is subject to change, in this ever-changing restaurant landscape. We’ll also add to the list as we discover ones we find to be In Good Taste. See which ones are our Editor’s Picks.

We just love a good happy hour because:
1. It’s a way to size up a restaurant, getting a sample of what it has to offer, while you save some moolah.
2. You get an idea of whether or not you’d want to return and have a full-fledged meal.
3. Happy Hours are great for first dates, after work schmoozing or dishing, for a quick get-together without the commitment of the whole evening (“I can meet for happy hour but then I have to go.”).
4. Happy Hour can be time for yourself. Finish up your remote workday with a drink and a bite as a reward for being such a good worker bee!
