For this extra special Independence Day time, in which we celebrate 150 years of Colorado and 250 years of the United States, we’ve assembled a collection of happenings around Colorado. They run July 2-5.
Ongoing Independence Day Celebrations
38th Star: Colorado Becomes the Centennial State is an ongoing exhibit at the History Colorado Center. It follows the five tries, and more than 15 years for Colorado to become a state.
Flight Club Denver celebrates the long weekend with the new Stars and Spice Sour cocktail with chile-infused vodka, fresh watermelon, lemon and egg white foam with a red, white and blue salt rim. They’ll also have $2.50 Beef Sliders July 3-5.
Greeley Stampede runs from June 24-July 5 with rodeos, concerts, parade, carnival, food and entertainment.
Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights is an offer from the Crawford Hotel at Denver Union Station to celebrate America’s 250th. Enjoy a curated experience through Rocky Mountain National Park or Red Rocks Amphitheatre. For stays coinciding with a Rockies game, get two Rockpile tickets. Stays include dinner at Mercantile Dining & Provision and two scoops from Milkbox Ice Creamery. The package is available through August 31.
July 2
Fireworks Viewing 4th on the Second in Glendale has a movie night featuring F1, followed by a fireworks show starting at 9:30pm. Gates open at 6pm and the movie starts at 7pm.
July 3
Fireworks Viewing Colorado Rockies Game fireworks will be launched 20-30 minutes after the final out against the San Francisco Giants.
Fourth of July Weekend at Denver Union Station is July 3 and July 4. There’ll be live music, festive food and drink specials at the Terminal Bar Patio. There’ll be local musicians, summer cocktails and front-row views of the city’s fireworks display.
Independence Eve at the Buell Theatre is a free concert featuring an evening of patriotic favorites, orchestral works and iconic American music performed by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Although free, tickets are required.
Little Man Ice Cream debuts their latest limited-time specialty flavor collection in their stores: Very Very Cherry flavors including Cherry Cherry Bang Bang, Cherry Lime Sorbet and Mile High Cherry Pie plus a Firecracker Float. The latter is Little Man vanilla ice cream topped with Fanta Strawberry or Boylan’s soda, whipped cream, 4th of July sprinkles and a food-safe sparkler.
Lobster Riot returns to both locations of Blue Island Oyster Bar, July 3, 4 and 5. Enjoy a whole steamed Main lobster dinner for $35, served with fries and coleslaw.
Fireworks Viewing Longmont Fireworks has a drone show on the 3rd and a fireworks show on the 4th.
Stars & Guitars Celebration in Keystone includes face painting, the Salida Circus, concert with The Goonies SWAG giveaway, concert by Groove ‘n Motion and a “Stories in the Sky” CO 150 Celebratory Drone Show.
The Rally Hotel offers a “Room with a View” upgrade to secure a front-row vantage point guest room for the Coors Field fireworks on July 3 and 4. The OG restaurant, downstairs, is serving a patriotic “Red, White and Blue” pancake special all month with fresh berries, white chocolate chips and festive sprinkles.
Fireworks Viewing Visit Denver Celebrates America 250 begins with pre-show entertainment at 6pm, viewing of the film National Treasure at 7pm and then the American 250 Colorado 150 Drone Show viewing at 9:15pm.
Been there, loved that – Fireworks Viewing Woodie Fisher’s new rooftop deck is open from 5-10pm, offering prime views of the Coors Field fireworks shows July 3 and 4. They’ll be serving a lineup of holiday cocktails like the Watermelon Lemonade Frozen Mocktail or, our favorite, the Peach Bellini Frozen Cocktail. Order food from the Deck menu including Fried Cheddar Curds. Seating is first-come, first-served.
July 4
4th of July Rooftop Fiesta at Cimera features live-fire cooking, craft cocktails and skyline views throughout the evening. Enjoy Peruvian street skewers, duck and chorizo paella and ceviche prepared live. There’ll also be DJ Kenny D performing. The all-you-can-eat experience is $75/person. A $60/person Craft Cocktail Package includes four drinks.
Fireworks Viewing 4thFEST at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City will be launched after the third of three rugby matches in the stadium. Game tickets require a ticket but the 4thFEST is free and is held outside the Park.
18 Years of Little Man LoHi is celebrated with a full day of fun that includes a Ballet Folklórico performance during the day, Firecracker Floats and new ice cream flavors (see July 3), and an evening of dancing with Swingin’ Under the Stars, where red, white and blue outfits are encouraged.
Fireworks Viewing 4th of July Spectacular happens at the Aurora Municipal Center starting at 9:30pm.
Fireworks Viewing Brighton’s Fourth of July festival is at Carmichael Park. Fireworks will be set off after the band Thumpin’ performs.
Fireworks Viewing Broomfield’s Great American Picnic is at Broomfield County Commons Park starting at 9:15pm.
Fireworks Viewing Castle Rock will launch their fireworks display from Miller’s Landing.
Fireworks Viewing Colorado Rockies Game fireworks will be launched 20-30 minutes after the final out against the San Francisco Giants.
Denver Milk Market has several specials for the day. From 3-9pm only, the Dairy Block food hall will offer $4 pours of Coors Light, $5 Marczyk brats & franks and $2 housemade potato salad.
Fireworks Viewing Ed Sheeran Post-Concert Grand Fireworks Show follows the LOOP Tour at Empower Field at Mile High.
Fireworks Viewing Englewood Fireworks is held at Cornerstone Park and Belleview Park.
Federales is throwing an all-day patio party. Happy hour runs from 11am-1pm with specially-priced margaritas, beer buckets, taquitos, nachos and Federales’ iconic queso blanco. A DJ starts at 1pm. Give red, white and blue Jello shots a try.
Fourth of July Luau at Adrift runs from noon-4pm with the full food and cocktail menu, authentic Kalama Polynesian Dancers, live performances, complimentary hula lessons, a traditional lei greeting, and an exciting fire show. Reservations are suggested.

Highland 4th of July Parade includes a Bike Decorating Party at MCA, a parade and a Little Man ice cream after-party.
Independence Day Concert with the Denver Municipal Band and Colorado Youth Bands at Washington Park starts at 7pm. Special guests include Denver District 9 City Councilmember Darrell Watson narrating Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait and Marguerite Endsley performing aerials.
Interdependence Day Celebration celebrates its third year honoring how people rely on each other and are interconnected. The morning/mid-day, family-friendly event includes food from a local chef, live music, poetry performance, henna, chalk art contest, games, button-making, a giant parachute and more.
Inverness Denver will have live music from a DJ from 11am-3pm by the pool. If you aren’t already a guest of the hotel, you can still attend the party and enjoy the pool by booking through Resort Pass.

Fireworks Viewing Louisville launches their annual fireworks show from Coal Creek Golf Course.

Fireworks Viewing Northglenn fireworks are part of the July 4th Festival in E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park starting at 9:15pm.
Parades Park Hill Independence Day parade kicks off at 1:30pm. This neighborhood parade, which was started by a husband-and-wife back in 2014, began small but has become one of the iconic ways to celebrate in Denver. Visit the website link for the route.
Fireworks Viewing Parker hosts a fireworks launching from Salisbury Park.
Rare Bird at Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek celebrates with a DJ, fireworks viewing and a rooftop BBQ in partnership with GNAT Jewelry Atelier and Horse Soldier Bourbon. Enjoy Carolina barbecue pork ribs, chicken sliders and “Big Mac” hot dogs and white cheddar mac and cheese. The event is free to attend with RSVP.
Fireworks Viewing Sheraton Denver Downtown, in the heart of the city offers guests one of Denver’s best vantage points for viewing fireworks displays.
Fireworks Viewing The City of Arvada’s fireworks display takes place at Stenger Soccer Complex starting at 9:15pm.
Fireworks Viewing Thornton’s “Red, White & BOOM!” happens at Carpenter Park Fields starting at 9:30pm.
Washington Park 4th of July is held at Wash Park Smith Lake Boathouse and includes live music, Station 21 fire truck display, a balloon artist, magician and professional face painters. There’ll also be a children’s parade with bikes, trikes and strollers at noon, followed by free ice cream.

The Grandview in Olde Town Arvada hosts a North Carolina-style whole hog BBQ, pimento cheeseburgers and Pimm’s Cup, the New Orleans summer cocktail made with herb-infused gin and a lemon-ginger base. There’ll also be beer and cocktail specials throughout the day.
Wide Open Saloon hosts a 4th of July Party in Sedalia with barbecue from Riot BBQ, a live performance from Kingpin Posse and sweeping views of the Front Range. Meet Chef Manny Barella and Pitmaster Patrick Klaiber, co-founders of Riot BBQ.
July 5
250-150 Drone Show at Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park with an aerial display honoring America’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th. It begins as the park closes around 9pm.
Fourth of July After Party at Four Mile Historic Park for a low-sensory celebration with music from the El Jebel Shrine Community Band and storytelling plus a flag-making craft.
Independence Day Bells & Tower Climb at the University of Denver is a rare opportunity for a free concert on the Williams Carillon, one of the largest bell towers in the country. Bring your own picnic and lawn chairs and dress for the weather.

Terminal Bar extends the celebrations with an all-day happy hour that also occurs in The Cooper Lounge.
