Louisiana has its own vibe, ethos, style. And it has its own authentic and iconic cuisine that sets it apart from other parts of the United States. Unless we travel there, we don’t really, really get to experience the mystique and deliciousness of it all. Thankfully, the state is making it easy for us to get a taste when “Louisiana Meets the Rockies” comes to Denver, November 13, 2024. As part of a sponsored partnership with the event, In Good Taste Denver is proud to provide you with everything you need to know to attend.

BONUS: A word from the Louisiana Meets the Rockies Team
Q: What makes Louisiana’s culinary scene so unique?
A: Louisiana is a melting pot of tradition drawn from French, Spanish, African, Sicilian, Caribbean, Irish, German and American Indian cultures. We also plan around the culinary seasons – the plentiful seafood throughout the year, king cakes for Mardi Gras, gumbos when the weather cools off and so much more. Destinations and chefs from around the state are participating and most areas have unique ingredients and techniques that are tied to the culture and heritage of the area and also what is produced in the area.
Q: What was your motivation for bringing this event to Denver?
A: Louisiana Culinary Trails is the collaborative effort of the Louisiana Travel Association and its partners, offering appetizing getaways and promoting Louisiana by way of its unique culinary scene. Louisiana Culinary Trails takes to the road, showcasing the diverse food experiences found throughout the state in major cities across the country. Louisiana Culinary Trails inspires travelers by highlighting the accessibility and epicurean journeys awaiting exploration throughout the state, facilitated by Louisiana tourism and neighboring communities. Louisiana Meets the Rockies is the first time Louisiana Culinary Trails is bringing its epicurean delights west of the Mississippi. A perfect time for Coloradans to get out of their box for a southern sensory extravaganza.
