Longtime Denverites may remember that the location where Ocean Prime is now, at the corner of 15th and Larimer, was once where The Magic Pan restaurant held court for decades. After a few incarnations, including Z Gallerie, a new restaurant moved in, occupying two floors with expansive windows that let passersby look in at the beautiful lighting and beautiful people. And it lets lucky diners look out over the twinkling lights of Larimer Square. I’d only been in for a drink but was excited to have an opportunity to dine with a group of other food writers. Ocean Prime was celebrating – their 5 year anniversary and brand new lunch and happy hour menus. The company was great, the restaurant elegant and the food delicious. Let’s take a look:

Ocean Prime’s new Lunch Feature is $25 per person plus tax and gratuity and includes the choice of a First Course (calamari, French onion soup or an Ocean Prime House Salad) and the choice of an Entree (Asian Tuna Salad, Teriyaki Salmon or Filet Mignon.) The new Happy Hour menu, served in the lounge downstairs, Monday-Friday, 3:30-6pm offers $2 oysters, $10 Small Plates like Lobster Mac and Beef Sliders, or the Chef’s Featured Sushi Roll for $10 plus drink specials. We’ll be trying this next time we are heading to the theater at Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Everything feels a little more special in Larimer Square anyway, but Ocean Prime is, literally a glowing example of how special the area really is. Ocean Prime is located at 1465 Larimer in Larimer Square.
