Yes, you can go to the grocery store. Heck, you can have the grocery store come to you. But there’s nothing quite like picking your own food items while connecting with the growers/bakers/artisans themselves, all while strolling in the open air. Combine that with food trucks, something to sip as you shop, and live music and you have a much more enjoyable grocery shopping experience! That’s why we are happy to partner with Gum Pop Presents to tell you about their People + Produce at Belleview Station farmers market series, happening throughout the summer. Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

What is People + Produce?

Well, just that and a whole lot more. The farmers market series is you people, making the choice to shop really local for sustainable, delicious food and drink from the people who grow and make it all. And while it is produce, it’s more than just fruits and veggies. It’s proteins that are farmed or fished, baked goods, sauces, pickled things, jams and jellies, and loads more from around 50 different vendors each week.

All that shopping can work up a powerful thirst, so there’s also the local watering hole, Belleview Beer Garden.

When is it?

People + Produce Belleview Station happens every Sunday, 9am-1pm, through September 24.

Where is it held?

People + Produce Belleview Station is held at, you guessed it, the Belleview Station area in the Denver Tech Center at S. Newport Street and E. Chenango Ave.

What does it cost to attend?

Absolutely nothing but Gum Pop Presents would like you to RSVP, please, here. Then, it’s just the cost of the items you purchase on your own.

Tips for making the most out of People + Produce:

Bring your own bags/totes in which to place all of the good things you buy.

Wear sunscreen and comfy shoes.

There is street parking but People + Produce is also not far from the RTD Light Rail station.

The event is well-behaved-dog-friendly and, good news, the Belleview Station Dog Park is nearby when some relief and a little run-around is in order.

And mostly, we always encourage you to chat with the vendors to get to know the people behind the products. Often, they are the makers, and always they are filled with hopes and dreams of making their business a success. In other words, they are interesting people so connect as well as purchase!

Talk to the vendors because they are often the makers and purveyors behind the products you’ll buy.
