The St. Julien Hotel in Boulder is one of those places that make you say “They’ve thought of everything!” Chocolates and water bottles bedside, a robe and slippers in the bathroom, and a pay-what-you-use snack tray that even includes a little stuffed animal (in case the kiddos pitch a fit). And that’s just once you get up into your room. First, you pass through the elegant but totally inviting lobby (snag a seat by the fireplace), sensual bar, calming spa and spacious patio with views of the Flatirons. “This is going to be good,” you say to yourself.

LOCATION
The St. Julien is in the heart of downtown Boulder so park the car (or take the bus up from Denver) and you’re set. Everything’s within walking distance, including the Pearl Street Mall. Although there are tons of restaurants all around, the St. Julien offers a variety of dining opportunities all day long so you’d hardly have to leave!

ROOM
Warm tones of brown, gray and apricot are at once sophisticated without feeling dated. A comfy chair to curl up in to read a couple of chapters, a roomy desk to dash off a few emails and then that lovely, four-poster bed, all give plenty of reasons to just settle in and enjoy.

DINING
There are several dining options at the St. Julien, including a weekly vegan meal. The Sunday Brunch at Jill’s Restaurant and Bistro is not to be missed though. The setting is just beautiful but the food and drink options are unique and plentiful. Zero in on the shrimp, crab legs and salmon, or head to the fruit, pastries and salads. The carving station, with roast beef, bacon and sausage will meet all protein needs. Have some of this and that, washed down with a delicious, spicy Bloody Mary or a Mimosa. Bottomless, you can go back and forth – if you felt so inclined. Bring the feasting to a close with the artistic and delicious dessert bar, including a white and black chocolate fountain for your dipping pleasures.

EXTRAS
Wafting fragrances from the spa make their way to the check-in area, calling new guests to relax and unwind. An indoor pool is great for doing laps. Live music plays on the terrace and the restaurants offer themed dinner/entertainment offerings throughout the year, making the St. Julien a real destination and not merely a hotel.

The St. Julien Hotel is located at 900 Walnut Street in Boulder.
