FEATURED EVENT: Ballet Ariel presents “Little Women” and the “Nutcracker Suite,” an original production of both stories, presented together. “Little Women,” which takes place at Christmas, will be accompanied by live music from Gossamer Winds. The “Nutcracker Suite” features the international dances from the iconic Land of Sweets scene of the “Nutcracker” ballet. A Christmas Carol by the DCPA Theatre Company, is one of our favorite productions. The musical adaptation of the classic tale is fun, thought-provoking, kinda creepy, very heartwarming and magical. It runs through Dec. 28 at the Wolf Theatre.

A Very Ship Tavern Christmas has holiday-inspired cocktails and holiday decor. Enjoy Frosted Cranberry Bliss, Spiced Sleigh Ride, Merry Mai Tai and others. The offerings run through Jan. 2.
Annie, the musical comedy, follows the adventures of “Little Orphan Annie.” It plays at the Town Hall Arts Center through Dec. 28.
Bezel Lodge is the wintery transformation of Bezel Cocktail Lounge. From Dec. 2 through January, the holiday pop-up features fireplaces along the newly opened 16th Street; blankets and outdoor heat lamps; a ski-lift chair for photo ops; mountain cabin decor; live DJ sets and a new menu of warm, winter-inspired cocktails.

Blitzen’s Bar at Omni Interlocken has dedicated mixology classes, over-the-top decor, themed cocktails and a festive atmosphere. It runs through Jan. 11.
Blossoms of Light at Denver Botanic Gardens runs through Jan. 11, with a mile-long path through immersive, illuminated displays that accentuate and highlight the plant collections.
Breakfast with Santa at Ellyngton’s within The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa, features a buffet, cheerful decor and plenty of photo opportunities with Santa. The event is held Dec. 6, 13, 20 and 24. Reservations are available on OpenTable.
Buffalo Prime Rib Special at The Fort is available Friday-Sunday until Dec. 28. The slow-cooked meal includes mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, the Fort salad and breads plus the signature Negrita for dessert.
Camp Christmas returns to Stanley Marketplace, through Dec. 24. Created by local artist Lonnie Hanzon, this reimagined, walk-thru experience takes attendees through six cycles, from “Pre-Soak” to “Fluff & Buff,” with interactive installations and playful prompts.
Charlie Brown Goes to The Nutcracker at St. Julien Dec. 6, 13 and 19. Performed by Boulder’s own Ron LeGault Trio, this complimentary performance blends the music from “Charlie Brown Christmas” show, composed by Vince Guaraldi, with the jazz versions of “The Nutcracker,” written by Duke Ellington. Curl up by the fireplace in the lobby, sip a seasonal cocktail and enjoy the sounds of holiday cheer from 6-9 p.m.
Chef’n It, Colorado’s new cooking series, features Kenta Kamo, Managing Partner and Executive Chef of Michelin-recommended Temaki Den, for the show’s fourth episode. He walks viewers through creating hand rolls at home.

Cherry Creek Holiday Market returns for its sixth year through Dec. 24, with 50 Colorado makers and artisans on Fillmore Plaza. Shop gives ranging from fine art to textiles to bottled craft cocktails. There will also be live music and festive drinks at the Mistletoe Lounge.
Cherry Creek North Winter Wanderland, through Dec. 24, is a collection of free events throughout the neighborhood, starting with nearly one million twinkling lights on more than 600 trees, Giving Machines (vending machines for making a positive impact); Small Business Weekend; Saturday Night lights: a Chanukah Celebration: Cherry Creek Holiday Market; and Mistletoe Lounge.
Christmas at Gaylord Rockies’ ICE! featuring Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, brings hand-carved ice sculptures that bring the beloved Dr. Seuss story to life—from the Grinch’s mountaintop lair to Who-ville’s joyful Christmas morning. The attraction includes towering ice scenes, vibrant colored ice, crystal-clear carvings, dazzling LED lights, and the fan-favorite two-story ice slides.
Christmas Beer and Cookies Tour takes attendees on a guided tour to four RiNo breweries, sampling more than 10 beers along the way, paired with four big cookies from The Flour Shop. Get a free Santa hat and Souvenir Sample Glass. Learn unique Denver Christmas stories too. The tour happens various Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The cost is $55/person.

Christmas in Color happens at three locations, through Dec. 30. At Red Rocks, Water World and the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, drive through millions of lights synchronized to holiday music heard through the car radio.
Colorado Ballet: The Nutcracker runs through Dec. 28, featuring all-new sets and costumes created especially for Colorado Ballet.
Cook Street School of Culinary Arts has some intriguing classes in December including World Taste: India; Italian Regional: Rome; French Classics: and Street Food: South America.
Culinary Creative Group announces the return of its popular pop-up, the Polar Bear Express at Señor Bear in LoHi and, for the first time, at Ay Papi in Cherry Creek through Jan. 6. There are Latin holiday cocktails, festive decor, curated menu pairings and house-made holiday churros.
Denver BAZAAR: RiNo Holiday Market runs weekends through Dec. 21. Wander through a Candy Cane Forest, twirl your fork through Dessert Spaghetti, toast the season with Signature ‘Syrup” Shots, see the nightly Cheer-o-Meter Sing-Along too where the louder you sing, the brighter the room glows. It’s all while shopping local vendors.
Denver Christkindlmarket is in a new home this year – the Tivoli Quad at the Auraria Campus. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, there will be anniversary activations including a glass ornament workshop. With twinkling lights and entertainment, shop for the holidays just like the German inspiration. The market runs through Dec. 23. Check the website for advice about saving money on parking.
Denver’s Swirly, Twirly Market runs Fridays-Sundays, through Dec. 21 in RiNo. Shop more than 60 local Denver makers, sip at the “mail room-inspired” Holiday Bar (including “syrup” shots) and experience whimsical spaces with photo ops and installations.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors plays the Garner Galleria Theatre, through May 10. Filled with clever wordplay and anything-goes pop culture references, it’s a 90-minute, gender-bending, quick-changing, laugh-out-loud reimagining of the gothic classic, perfect for audiences of all blood types.
Drag Bingo Series at Terminal Bar happens on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month. Denver queens Miss Jessica and Talia Tucker host a free night of fierce fun, high-energy performances, cheeky banter, prizes and fun.

Festive at The Westin Riverfront in Vail Valley has a variety of happenings throughout the month including Miracle at Lookout Bar; Ugly Christmas Sweater Party; Santa Brunch at Stoke & Rye; a Screening of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and more.
Fire & Ice Menu at Call Me Pearl runs through Jan. 31. The specials are inspired by the duality of the season including Brr-Bon & Cherries with espresso infused Elijah Craig bourbon, cocoa bitters, cherry & cranberry spiced syrup, house-made hot cocoa & cherry whipped cream, Pork Char Siu Ramen and Veal Schnitzel.
Frost Bite Menu at The OG runs through Jan. 31 and serves bites and sips to warm up with including Pastrami Sandwich on Rye, Biscuit Donuts, Hot Chocolate Martini and Frosted Gingerflower Spritz.
Gingerbread Tea at St. Julien Hotel & Spa proceeds benefit There With Care, a nonprofit organization that supports children and families facing critical illness. Guests are also invited to bring an unwrapped toy to contribute to the hotel’s holiday toy drive. During tea service, children decorate gingerbread cookies, complete with a complimentary chef hat and apron, while adults can enjoy live holiday jazz. Tea service includes fresh-baked scones, tea sandwiches and a selection of gourmet teas. There are two seatings. The event is Dec. 7, 14 and 21.
Good Tidings at Run for the Roses is an underground cocktail lair located below the Alley at LoDo’s Dairy Block. It’s transformed into a winter forest escape with cocktails and holiday spirits. It’s open from 5pm-midnight through Dec. 31.
Good Times Burgers and Frozen Custard launches its seasonal Dasher Mint Chip Custard this December and just in time for the holidays. The limited time seasonal flavor includes a minty base scattered with chocolate chips.
Granny Dances to a Holiday Drum, the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance classic, celebrates 34 years of exploring holiday traditions from around the world. Guided by the Three Angels of the Rainbow, Granny visits Africa, the Americas, Mexico, Asia, and the Caribbean to celebrate the joy of Holiday Times! Great Divide Brewing & Roadhouse RiNo has seasonal winter brews available throughout December that include Hibernation Winter Ale, Barrel Aged Yeti and Chocolate Peanut Butter Yeti.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play runs through Dec. 28. The family-friendly production transports audiences into a 1940s radio studio where performers bring the world of Bedford Falls to life. The production provides a fresh perspective on George Bailey’s story.
NEWS Jack’s Modern Steakhouse is opening a second location in January in Lone Tree. The first location is in Denver on Pearl. Jack’s has a dry-aged fish program, 75-day wet-aged steaks plus signature dishes. The new space will be two levels with an outdoor patio and mountain views.
NEWS Johnny Bechamel’s will be opening in December in Washington Park, serving Italian-American cuisine with handmade pasta, Neo-Neapolitan-style pizza and an elevated beverage program. The restaurant comes via the Mamas & Papas Hospitality Group (Dio Mio, Redeemer Pizza and Little Johnny B’s.
NEWS Kachina Cantina has launched a Date Night offer – $100 for two people gets you four courses and one welcome margarita per person. Miracle at Union Station: Holidays at Grandma’s House is the theme of the Miracle Bar in Denver Union Station’s lower-level Gallery Bar. There’ll be over-the-top holiday embellishments, vintage decor and the scent of spiced cider and gingerbread plus Hanukkah decor plus special cocktails. Miracle will be open 4pm-midnight weekdays and 2pm-midnight Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are highly recommended.

NEWS Monarch Casino Resort and Spa is capitalizing on the new trend for midweek travel when the mountains (and mountain roads) are quieter and good deals can be had. Monarch Chophouse is offering a $65 three-course chef’s menu for midweek travelers.
Moonlight Elves is a circus-themed winter extravaganza with aerial artistry, juggling, puppetry and “festive mischief.” It runs through Dec. 7.
Next Level Veggie Grill offers the organic Candy Cane Shake, organic Holiday Apple Crumble Shake, Pumpkin Spice Cake and The Gobbler, a sandwich featuring crispy turkey(less) cutlet, housemade stuffing, cranberry sauce and savory gravy on a white bun.
Nocturne Holiday Sessions are Dec. 17-21. Expect two sets of holiday classics. Make it Dinner and a Show with reserved floor seating and a three-course dinner with optional wine or non-alcoholic wine pairings.

North PL is Poka Lola Social Club’s holiday pop-up bar with more than a dozen seasonal cocktails, mocktails and shots. Original Dickens Carolers will perform Thursday-Saturday evenings at The Fort, throughout the season. They’ll fill the adobe-inspired dining rooms with classic carols and cheer.
Over Flyte, on the third floor of FlyteCo Tower, has a holiday pop-up again this year. Play axe throwing, golf simulators, darts and ping pong while taking in holiday decor and a holiday menu. NEWS Retrograde is open again for the season, through January. The moody cocktail lounge, hidden behind a freezer door in Sweet Action Ice Cream’s Uptown Shop, has been transformed into Starlight Lounge, with a specialty cocktail list, silver and gold decor, and winter wonderland vibes. Rocky Top Tavern in the Berkeley neighborhood is a holiday pop-up running through Dec. 31. Cocktails include Naughty or Spice, Peary Christmas, Mistletoe Margarita.
Saint Nick Visits at Milepost Zero, the food hall at McGregor Square, will have free visits with Santa Dec. 6, 12 and 20.
Santa’s Big Red Sack returns for its 23rd, and final, year. The sketch comedy show will run Dec. 4-24 at The People’s Building in Aurora. This year, original cast members are back to skewer the holidays.
Santa’s Stop at Junction Food & Drink is a pop-up bar celebrating Santa’s journey around the world. There’s over-the-top holiday decor and themed cocktails to go along with it.

Ski Jorts City is a winter immersive taproom experience from Lady Justice Brewing. It runs through Dec. 31. The Englewood taproom will be fully decked out in après ski queer winter cheer like fireplaces, cozy blankets, twinkling lights and rhinestone-studded denim. There’ll also be two seasonal beer releases and weekly themed events including Awkward Family Photos, the Ski Jorts Fun Run and Canadian Tuxedo Formal.
Snowed Inn at Ace is a Holiday Popup Bar happening through Jan. 6. The enclosed, heated patio has snow-dusted trees, snowflake decor and twinkling lights plus holiday-themed cocktails.
Snowdrift is back at Adrift Tiki Bar. The pop-up bar experience runs through Jan. 3. The tiki-meets-tinsel vibe has snowcapped palm trees and powdery snow, blowfish decorations with Santa hats and an icy igloo beach bar. Enjoy special, themed drinks.
Steak Night America by STK Denver offers up a weekday prix-fixe menu every Sunday-Thursday. For $69/person, get a cocktail, choice of steak and side plus dessert.
Stocking Stuffers, presented by Miners Alley Performing Arts Center through Dec. 28, is a saucy production from the creative team behind The Great American Trailer Park Musicals. The new comedy has outrageous characters, an irreverent score, and unconventional humor.
The Cherry Cricket is turning 80 this month and is celebrating with its fellow 80-year-olds. At all locations, bring someone celebrating their 80th birthday year to enjoy a complimentary meal (up to $30) all month long. Each location will feature a photo wall where guests can snap a Polaroid to add to the display.
The Mile High Tree is in a new location this year – the Tivoli Quad at the Auraria Campus, from Nov. 21-Dec. 31. The 110-foot-tall, 39-foot-diameter structure has 60,000 LED lights displayed in a choreographed show to multicultural holiday music.
The Notebook, based on the best-selling novel that inspired the popular film by the same name, is playing at the Buell Theatre, Dec. 16-28. It tells the story of ALlie and Noah who share a lifetime of love despite forces pulling them apart.
THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train is back on track Nov. 7-Dec. 23. The immersive experience offers a three-part theatrical journey that brings the magic of the classic story during a holiday outing in Golden.
The Story of the Nutcracker, by Miners Alley Performing Arts Center, runs Saturdays, through Dec. 27. Ideal for kids and families, the interactive retelling invites kids directly into the world of The Nutcracker.
Toro has partnered with A Precious Child, the nonprofit that provides gifts, clothing and essentials to children in need. From Dec. 1-Jan. 31, Toro is a drop-off location for new, unwrapped toys.
Trail of Lights at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms is Nov 21-Jan. 11, with a wandering path through a pastoral setting in the countryside. There’s a longer and a shorter stroll, both of which go through illuminated trees and shrubs, leading through the Green Farm, 1880s Hildebrand Ranch homestead and other areas.

Colfax Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl has attendees hopping between some of Colfax’s favorite bars with holiday-themed games, challenges and surprises.
Denver Brass presents Holiday BrassFest, a free opportunity for the public to sing holiday carols under the acoustic glass ceiling of the Denver Performing Arts Complex Galleria. Registration is required and there is a morning rehearsal.
Denver Municipal Band presents the Dawn Clement Quartet in Lafayette. The free concert features pianist and composer Dawn Clement and her quartet. The debut performance features original music.
Holiday Wreath Building at Rowdy Poppy happens both the 6th and 13th. Build a holiday wreath with assistance from the pros. The sustainably focused floral studio and micro flower farm provides fresh evergreen, dried flowers, botanicals, pods, cones, ribbon, tools and detailed instructions. The class is $125/person.

Home for the Holidays, Dec. 6 and 7, features local musicians and vocalists performing holiday music.
It’s a RiNo-Ful Life annual holiday market returns at Truss House. There’ll be more than 25 artists and makers from across the district, live music, free crafts, seasonal treats, portraits and screen-printed tote bags.
NEWS La Vista Motel is now open and celebrates its grand opening from 11am-10pm. The East Colfax hotel from 1956 has been fully restored and includes the opening of El Piñon, the on-site coffee shop and cocktail/wine bar. There’ll be food trucks, live DJs, festive drinks and guest room tours showcasing the restoration of the historic property.

Lighting of Breckenridge and Race of the Santas includes illumination of the lights around town and the running of many Santa-suit-clad participants down Main Street. There are other events too including a holiday market, dog parade and more.

ArtistTree, a holiday tree installation by Denver-based artist, Joon Tajadod, will be unveiled. She has named the installation “Scarlet,” inspired by the romance embodied by the color. She’ll adorn the tree with faux flowers and fruits.
Joon will be present to answer questions and discuss her design point of view. The unveiling coincides with the hotel’s Holiday Bazaar, listed below.
Girl Winter Film Tour at BASECAMP Market Station features six femme-forward and gender-nonconforming ski films. Before and after the screening, there’ll be winter specials from Market Station retailers, pop-up shops and free on-site ski tuneups for the first 15 people with advance registration.

Holiday Happenings Ballet Ariel presents Little Women and Nutcracker Suite Dec. 12-14 in Lakewood and Dec. 27-28 in Northglenn. Little Women takes place during Christmastime and Nutcracker Suite is the famous scene in The Land of Sweets from the Nutcracker ballet.
Mistletoe & Melodies Featuring Marion Powers and the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra perform at Muse Performance Space in Lafayette. They bring an evening of seasonal tunes and jazz standards in a small club setting.
