Ongoing Events that are In Good Taste in October
13th Floor Haunted House opens and beyond scaring the pants off you, there’s a ShriekEasy Bar for spooky libations and snacks, Axe Throwing, Mini Escape Games, and more. It runs through Nov. 5.
Bistro Vendome, which made our list of Restaurant Patios In Good Taste, is moving from its iconic Larimer Square spot to Park Hill, where Tables was. Visit the current spot until New Years and then see the transformation starting in January.
Buffalo Prime Rib Weekends launch at The Fort with an 8-oz. buffalo prime rib, slow-roasted with red chile gravy and chef’s vegetables for $49 on Fridays-Sundays.
Cook Street Culinary School teaches you and feeds you with every class. October classes include French Classics, Sushi 2, and A World of Taste Caribbean. Visit their website to see the full schedule and details about each class.
Corn Maze at Chatfield Farm lets you meander seven acres of corn stalks designed in a dino theme. It runs Fridays-Sundays, through Oct. 30.
Creative Nations Indigenous Arts Market & Festival, Oct. 6-10 at Dairy Arts Center. See works from artisans representing various indigenous communities across the United States including traditional/cultural dance performances, live music, a film festival, fashion show and more.
DALÍ ALIVE opens Oct. 21, running through late January. It’s the world premiere of the immersive experience that dives deep into the Spanish surrealist artist, Salvador Dalí’s life. Displayed over 13,000 square feet, guests can explore how the artist overcame obstacles while continually reinventing himself.
Denver Beer Week at Slater’s 50/50 Denver, Sept. 30-Oct. 8, offers happy hour pricing on draft beers each day.
Denver Central Market has live DJs every Friday from 7-10pm. Grab some food here and drink in the Market.
Doors Open Denver returns, running through Oct. 16. This is one of our favorite events in Denver, celebrating in-person and virtual tours of Denver’s built environment. This year’s focus is on educational and cultural buildings such as the architecture of the Denver Zoo and Denver Performing Arts Complex.
Fall BAZAAR offers more than 70 local makers, street food, food trucks, a pop-up bar, beer garden, and DIY workshops. There are three of them at different locations, Oct. 1, 8, and 15.
Fall Frights and Delights happens at The Red Barber with cocktails including sangria-filled Blood Bags and Pumpkin Spice Froze. Running Oct. 5-29, there’ll be multiple events including tarot reading, photo ops, candlelight concert, pumpkin carving, and a Halloween Bash & Costume Party.
First Bite is returning for its 17th year, running through Oct. 9, with participating Boulder County restaurants offering specific dining options at a broad range of set prices to provide more flexibility in spending and budgeting.
Ghosts in the Gardens – Open Air Scare shows you Denver Botanic Gardens at York Street in a new light, with stories of the land’s haunted history. It’s available Oct. 13-15 and 28-30.
Heart & Hope is the money-raising cocktail Del Frisco’s Grille locations are serving up all month. $1 from each one will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
Hops & Pie is celebrating GABF with several special events, Oct. 5-8 including a Crooked Save Artisan portfolio tap takeover and Weldwerks Brewing and Casey Brewing & Blending event. Visit their website for all the details.
Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns runs through Oct. 31 at Hudson Gardens. See more than 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins turned into larger-than-life pumpkin displays.
Master Weavers Exhibit teaches you about Guatemalan artisans who create huipiles, traditional Guatemalan blouses known for their intricate embroidery. The exhibit can be seen at Convivio Café during business hours (7am-3pm) while you enjoy Guatemalan coffee and baked goods. The exhibit is in conjunction with Lakewood nonprofit, Friendship Bridge.
Meow Wolf hosts three Halloween parties at Convergence Station (and other locations) including a Monster Mash Bash Adulti-verse, and House of Flora’s Spookiki Ball. See the full lineup of events, dates, and locations on their website.
Movies at the Wright Opera House in Ouray include A Quiet Place Part II, Candyman, and Huda’s Salon.
Next Level Burger has Vegan Halloween Shake Specials throughout October. Flavors include the Dirty Jack O’ Lantern (cookie crumbles, chocolate sauce, gummy worms) and a Pumpkin Spice shake (made with organic spices) made with your choice of soy or coconut soft-serve ice cream.
NoNo’s Cafe in Littleton has started serving lunch. Items include a Cajun Egg Roll app filled with chicken, Tasso ham, cabbage and rice, and Chicken Nono with bite-size pieces of chicken with onions, shallow, light red sauce and seasonings over angel hair pasta.
Osaka Ramen celebrates fall flavors this month with a Green Chili Chorizo Ramen served with shaved cabbage, cilantro, cotija cheese and poached egg for $17.
Poka Lola Social Club has guest bartender Jocelyn Rodriguez making a signature, fall cocktail, a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Roadhouse Brewing Company has a week of GABF-inspired events including a Stout Street Social Tap Takeover, Ephemeral Rotating Tap Room, First Draft Taproom & Kitchen, Appaloosa Grill, Apple Blossom and more.
Stone Animals, a play labeled as “A ghost story without any ghosts” is a fantasy about a typical American couple moving into a not-so-typical suburb. It runs Oct. 15, 16, and 20 at two locations, and virtually.
Sushi-Rama is playing with pumpkin with their seasonal Pumpkin Dragon Roll with Japanese pumpkin tempura, marinated kelp, topped with avocado and honey glaze for $2.50/2 pieces.
Tamayo and Toro restaurants will celebrate Dia de los Muertos Oct. 4-Nov. 6 with new dishes, cocktails, and culinary experiences to celebrate those who have passed. On Oct. 26 at Toro, and Oct. 27 at Tamayo, there will be an hour-long Mayan Tequila and Copal ceremony by healer, Nataline Cruz followed by a four-course meal with drink pairings.
The Little Man Ice Cream Co. has fun and spooky events planned throughout the month including a pumpkin patch, Fright Night Flicks, cookie decorating, costume contest, Monster Mash, Hallow-Weenie Bingo and more.
The Rouge Wine Bar & Patio is opening this month, date TBA. It’s a creation of the team at Pindustry. We’ll provide more details as we get them.
Toastique has opened in Greenwood Village, serving gourmet toasts, smoothies, fresh juice and coffee drinks.
Tom’s Starlight diner opened late September, a reinvention of Tom’s Diner, a Capitol Hill classic. Check it out for a retro, 1970s Palm Springs vibe including a new patio/play area with tiki totems, cabanas, fire pits and jazzy tunes. Cool, baby!
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has a new and digital experience, using a spooky QR code. Consider including it your own Halloween celebrations to enable donations which will assist families in and around Ukraine, provide therapeutic food and water in drought-stricken Eastern Africa, and help children around the world survive harsh winters.
Van Leeuwen ice cream debuts two new fall flavors, Classic Pumpkin Cheesecake and Vegan Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Pie.
Victorian Horrors returns to the Molly Brown House Museum. Hear gothic horror tales told by well-known but long-gone authors, throughout the house, such as H.G. Wells, Edgar Allon Poe, and others (i.e. Colorado actors).
Water Grill is now serving California Spiny Lobster and Florida Stone Crab, two rare delicacies hard to find in land-locked states. The Lobsters are charcoal grilled and served with homemade coleslaw, available until March.
Whiskey Throwdown & Doughnut Showdown, plus the 2nd Annual Barrel Aged Beer & Whiskey Festival, happen in November, but tickets are on sale for all of it, now.

Pro Roe Bake Sale combines Infinite Monkey Theorem and vendors including Annette, Good Bread, Tavernetta, Noisette, Reunion Bread, Safta, Rosenberg’s and more, for a bake sale in support of Women’s Rights. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Planned Parenthood.
Our Mutual Friend Brewing hosts their 9th annual Gratitude Party with DJ tunes, specialty releases, and collectible party bundles.
October 2
Elevation, in Beaver Creek, is a 3-day experience made up of artist performances, culinary experiences, and winemaker pouring. See Brett Eldredge, Elle king and others and sample wine from Napa Valley and other areas, all in a beautiful mountain setting.
October 3
Giveback Nights at Que Bueno Suerte for Hispanic Heritage Month, also happening on Oct. 10, in support of the Colorado Youth Mariachi Band. Twenty percent of all sales those evenings will be donated to the organization.
October 4 – #NationalTacoDay
bartaco is bringing back their popular Roasted Brussels Sprouts Taco with honey chipotle glaze on a spicy curry carrot puree, garnished with sweet + spicy candied pepitas and pickled onions. Between Oct. 4-Dec. 5, $1 from the sale of each of these tacos will be donated to No Kid Hungry.
Shucking for a Cause kicks off. The Blue Island Oyster event happens on their Lone Tree Patio with oysters, aperitifs, live music and fun. A $30 donation is appreciated. At both locations, they’ll donate $4 from each full price dozen oysters sold in October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And they’ll donate $1 for every Mediterranean Purity Vodka Spritz or Glass of Rose sold.
October 5
Resolute Brewing Tap Takeover at 5280 Burger Bar brings four of its top beers from Arvada to 5280’s taps. For one night, they’ll have lagers to IPAs.
Westbound & Down Brewing Company holds its grand opening celebration for its new pop-up location in FREE MARKET as part of Denver Beer Week. The Idaho Springs-based brewery will serve several selections in the tasting room while guests enjoy live music. BRUTØ will be preparing grilled faire outside.
October 6
Great American Beer Festival, Oct. 6-8, offers four sessions during which attendees can access more than 1500 beers from across the country, attend educational and interactive seminars, enjoy live music and special 40th anniversary activities.
Great American Beer Fest and Horse & Dragon Brunch Collaboration is a celebration of the Great American Beer Fest at The Original with brews and food pairings.

Telluride Horror Show, Oct. 13-16, is an eclectic mix of horror, suspense, thriller, dark fantasy, sci-fi, and dark comedy.

Boulder Blind Café Experience is a pop-up dinner, social impact discussion and intimate live music performance held in 100% darkness. Have a healthy meal prepared by local chefs.
National Dessert Day at Devil’s Kitchen, the restaurant and rooftop bar atop Grand Junction’s Hotel Maverick.
Rainbow Dome hists a monthly zodiac-themed party at Rollerdome. For October, they are also combing it with a spooky Halloween event. There’ll be open skating from 3-10pm and skate rentals are free on a first come first served basis.
Second Fridays in Palisade features live art demonstrations and photography plus wine and cheese flights from Bookcliff Vineyards.
Shining Mountains Film Festival, Oct. 14-16 at Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, gives voice to American Indians through featured films and documentaries.
October 15
Denver Beer Co’s Pumpkin Patch & Painting Party will provide painting stations, spooky stencils, fall decor, pumpkins-to-go and their Hey Pumpkin Autumn All. Each $25 ticket includes a pumpkin and two draft beers of choice.
Freshtober Fest by The Empourium returns to Denver’s Berkley neighborhood celebrating fresh hop beers. Ten breweries will pour best. There’ll be live music by The Hucklebearers and Traveling Rose Band plus food from Little Red’s Kitchen and Pho King Rapidos food trucks.
Halloween Trick-or-Treat at the Mile High Flea Market is a family-friendly event where you can wear costumes and take the kids trick-or-treating throughout the market with candy bags provided at the entrance gate. Kids can enjoy free ride tickets, a festive photo area, music and more.
Hispanic Top Chef 2022 is a Latin fine foods event and competition. Chefs from across the U.S. will compete. There’ll also be wine, mezcal and tequila tastings. National Cheese Curd Day at Wally’s Wisconsin Tavern means you’ll get baskets of white cheddar cheese curds that are tempura battered and fried, served with ranch for dipping.
Piroshky Piroshky, the Seattle-based (Pike Place Market), European-inspired brand, is celebrating their 30th Anniversary with a Pop-up Tour that stops at Grange Food Hall. Starting Oct. 15, select any of their flash-frozen pies and pick them up on Oct. 17 and meet the team. They’ll also be a Cerberus Brewing Company in Colorado Springs on Oct. 18.
The Haunted Masquerade by Boulder Opera is a fundraiser featuring selections from Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel, The Little Mermaid, Phantom of the Opera and others.

Carving & Cocktails at Terminal Bar is a 21 event that includes the pumpkin, carving tools, and a seasonal cocktail.
Gilmore Girls Day will be celebrated at LUKI Brewery when it’s transformed into a Stars Hollow-inspired wonderland, to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the series. There’ll be trivia, a costume contest, raffle prizes, and specialty beer releases.
October 17 – #NationalPastaDay
Il Posto will be serving fan favorites such as the Papperdelle with Berkshire pork marjoram ragu, oyster mushroom, house sugo, and grana Padano; a vegan Cacio e Pepe with bucatini pasta, vegan cashew cheese, vegan parmigiana, and arugula.
Vero, Il Posto’s sister concept in the Denver Central Market will serve Gnocchi al Telefono with ricotta gnocchi, tomato sugo, fresh mozzarella, basil and grana, Bucatini Diavola with spicy soppressata, cremini mushrooms, cream reduction, red pepper flakes, and grana, among other dishes. Vero will offer 25% off on Oct. 17 to celebrate National Pasta Day.

Glow at the Gardens, running through Oct. 23 is a nighttime celebration that takes you throughout Denver Botanic Gardens to see pumpkins creatively carved, arranged, and illuminated.
October 21
Breckenridge Brewery and Never Summer Industries are teaming up for the 10th year for the “Artist Series” snowboard featuring local artwork crafted into a high-performance all-mountain board. To commemorate the decade-long partnership, Breckenridge Brewery has released a new beer to celebrate the winter sports season: Funslinger Lager. Attend the Opening Day party at Blake Street Tavern, starting at 6pm.
SAME (So All May Eat) Café celebrates 16 years of its mission of building community through healthy food access, served in a dignified manner, to anyone who walks through their door on Colfax. To celebrate the thousands of meals served, they are hosting a Sweet 16 party. The celebration features some featured specials and sweet treats. They’ll also announce their expansion to Ohio.
Trick or Treat Cocktails will be served at Dairy Block, from Oct. 21-31 with participating restaurants offering cocktails inspired by favorite Halloween movies such as the Mystery Machine at Poka Lola (“Scooby Doo”), Un Poco Loco at Kachina Cantina (“Coco”), and Deviation Distilling’s Zombie Tiki (“Zombieland”).
October 22
Adult Prom at Number Thirty Eight includes a free drink while also benefitting Denver children’s charities. Play giant beer pong, enjoy video booths, sit for caricatures and dance away.
Inside the Orchestra has created a new way to engage young children in the joys of classical music with a fall series, Inside the Story, at the Denver Art Museum. The event includes access to the museum, art activities, and an original storybook brought to life through music, dancing, acting and storytelling.
MORE THAN PINK Walk, is a Susan G. Komen event in which breast cancer survivors, family, and friends come together to raise money for breast cancer research.
Outdoor Fest at the Rock is a shopping event at the Outlets at Castle Rock in which top-notch outdoor brands offer special deals, prizes, and outdoor activations.
October 23
Cerveceria Colorado Dias de Drag presents Ximena LatinX, who is knows for her Latin showgirl flare, high energy and stunts. This month’s theme is Halloween and every ticket holder receives a 5 oz beer pour (aka a Cervecerita). There will also be Micheladas and Beermosas available and Brunch Food Truck on-site.
Fall Flannel Festival brings live music face painting, a balloon artist, photo booth, a pumpkin carver, live animals, and trick-or-treating all to the Dairy Block and Denver Milk Market.
Howl-a-Ween Pet Parade shows off your four-legged friend in their costume finest. The Denver Animal Shelter will be on-site, at the Terminal Bar patio, with adoptable dogs and adoption information.
October 24
Buddy Pass is back, a unique barrel-exchange program between Breckenridge Distillery and Breckenridge Brewery. They’ve created a Whiskey Barrel-Aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout and an Imperial Stout Cask Finish Whiskey that blends the best of these award-winning brands. Buddy Pass hits retailers across the country starting Oct. 24.
Candy/Wine Pairings at The Infinite Monkey Theorem, combines five candy and wine pairings, available Oct. 24-Oct. 31. The most popular is Kit Kat and Cab Franc. See which one you’ll like.
October 26
An Argentinian Heart: Gauchos in Buffalo Bill’s Wild Westis a reception and discussion about the gauchos who performed with the show and their impact.
BOOnion Station Trick-or-Treat Parade, for all ages, offers trick-or-treating, mini-train rides, balloon artists, face painting, parade, and costume contest, all at Denver Union Station.
Spooky Sips is a Nocturne Cocktail Class. The hands-on mixology experience covers how to make the Zombie, Corpse Reviver, and others. Stay to enjoy a live jazz performance, included with ticket price.
October 27
The Shining Ball is a 3-day event at The Stanley Hotel (Oct. 27-29), with Devotchka’s Annual Day and Night Halloween Black Tie Ball. There will be performances featuring Slavic Sisters macabre circus of aerialists, stilt-walkers, fire breathers, a Bloody Mary Bar, late night DJ sets, and more. Individual general admission tickets along with room packages are available.
October 28
Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics is a live, multi-sensory musical experience. Enjoy frightful and familiar (and unfamiliar) tunes.
Chef Takeover: Chef Andrea Murdoch, Four Directions Cuisine, will be at the helm of the kitchen in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day. The Andean Native from Venezuela will be preparing lunch that will be served from 11am-2:30pm at SAME Cafe.
Dia de los Muertos will be celebrated at Kachina Cantina through Nov. 2 with a special menu including Pastor Cauliflower Steak, Pato con Mole Negro with duck and Pan de Muerto.
Hocus Pocus Halloween Opus takes you back to 1990’s Salem for a night when the diabolical Sanderson sisters rule. There’ll be live performances, DJs, dancing, a costume contest and throwback surprises.
Italian Week: OAK at Fourteenth tickets become available for a special dinner that will take place Nov. 28-Dec. 1. There will be menu collaborations with Dio Mio, Chef Justin Brunson, Coperta and Apple Blossom’s Paul C. Reilly and more plus Negroni Night, exclusive dishes, and rotating, multi-course dinners.
Murder Mystery Dinner at The Fort, Midnight at the Masquerade Dinner, serves up a three-course prix fixe meal and murder mystery production.
Untitled: Creative Fusions at Denver Art Museum lets you experience human connection through ancestral ceremonies and traditions, inspired by the new exhibit, Saints, Sinners, Lovers, and Fools: 300 Years of Flemish Masterworks. Tickets for the actual exhibit can be purchased along with Untitled.
October 29
Ace Halloween Pre-Lit Party at Ace Eat Serve, offers spooky cocktails and food, a costume contest, Cosmic Ping Pong and live music.
CarnEvil Halloween Party at Federales offers up a haunted carnival theme with tacos, tequilas, taquitos, decorations and DJ’s. Get tickets for $35 which include drafts, call mixed drinks, chips, and salsas.
El Centro Amistad presents Dia de Muertos at Dairy Arts Center with live music, an alter exhibition, raffles, pan de muerto, loteria, catrina contest, food, dance, and more. The event is Free.
Emma Crawford Coffin Races are a tradition going back to 1995 in honor of a beloved member of Manitou Springs. Teams push their coffin with their “Emma” riding along.
Freaky Deaky Tiki Party at Adrift features a costume contest, drag show, fire performances, tarot card and fortune readings plus Halloween cocktail specials.
La Bouche Halloween Party has DJ Oury spinning “Monster Mash.” Costumes are encouraged.
October 30
The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience is an immersive, Regency-era ball inspired by the Netflix series. Experience interactive activities, acrobatic performances, and set recreations. The hot sex is not included.
