A sweet find in a friendly, historic small town. Something Brewery is Brighton’s first craft brewery and tap house. Housed in an old brick structure, full of character and fun local art, this is a friendly spot to bring friends, dogs, kids and family for a tasty brew. No food is served, but food trucks visit on the weekends and local restaurants deliver.
Co-owner Dustin was pouring the day we visited, and he suggested the Mint Condition for a festive seasonal brew. This flavorful mint chocolate porter was smooth with just a kiss of mint. He described their Cookie Monster, brewed with Oreos, as another festive option that his regulars love; he assured me it wasn’t sickly sweet, that they use a light touch. After the perfect balance of the Mint Stout, I believe him. Another beer on their menu caught my eye: Totes Mango, an ale brewed with tea, sounds perfect for summer days. Thanks to Dustin for taking time to talk to us about his tasty brews!
Be sure to spend time exploring Brighton’s downtown streets, a mix of hip, farmer and mom ‘n pop businesses, some frozen in time. Folks are friendly and happy to help you find your way around. Nice. Be sure to try out the newcomer to the Brighton brewery scene: Big Choice Brewing.
