Lucky for all of us, it’s March! Not only do we get to celebrate everything Irish but it’s that wonderful month when crocus could start poking up, and some warm-weather days remind us that a glorious spring is ahead – unless we get a dumping of snow. Ongoing Events In Good Taste in March

1776, is a new production of the Tony Award-winning musical that features representatives of race, gender, and ethnicity who weren’t allowed a seat at the table.

75th Leadville Ski Joring and Crystal Carnival Weekend takes place March 2-5. See the unique sport of ski joring (horses pulling a skier by a rope before the skier jumps and spears rings along the course) plus mountain bike and Nordic ski races, live music, and more.

Après Ski Lounge, running March 17-April 2, is a partnership between Stoke & Rye at The Westin Riverfront and Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, is an immersive dining and drinking experience in a private, live-sized whiskey barrel. There’ll be two tasting experiences offered.

Barcelona Wine Bar as a Paella Mariscos, Mahi Mahi La Plancha, Gamas al Ajillo, and Scallops a La Plancha for those looking for fish-centric meals during Lent.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Breckenridge Brewery Ale & Game House, at Hilton Denver Inverness, is serving up a Rueben sandwich, bottomless fries and Nitro Irish Stout for $23 plus several shot specials. For every special purchased, guests will be entered to win a Gaper Day Snowboard Giveaway on April 4. Food and drink specials available March 11-19.

Cantina Loca has Baja Fish available for Lent. The flaky fish is battered and fried, paired with pickled cabbage and chipotle aioli, available to share with the table or individually in street tacos.

Dazbog Coffee Company, Colorado’s largest independent coffee roaster and purveyor, has opened a new, spiffy, bright red store at 56th and Tower Road. Check out their new Revivers, plant-based energy drinks.

Elita Specialty Market and Kitchen is serving Tunisian Tune-Herbed Quinoa Salad with pita bread or as a sandwich on a chile-garlic French baguette, perfect for Lent.

Guapo Taco is serving a Fried Cod Taco topped with New England slaw, lime-cilantro crema and chopped pickles and the Coconut Shrimp Taco served with gingered pineapple heirloom carrot and celery slaw with chipotle mayo and togarashi.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Poka Lola Social Club will be serving special drinks, March 11-17, including an Irish Mule and Guinness Draft with Irish Dancers performing in The Maben lobby at noon and 3pm on March 11 and 17.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Breckenridge Brewery’s Nitro Irish Stout is a new local tradition. As the official beer of Denver’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, it’s brewed with roasted Irish barley. It has a fixed widget inside that releases nitrogen when the can is cracked open for a smooth sip.

Cajun Ramen Seasonal at Osaka Ramen is a novel creation made with kielbasa sausage, shrimp, onion, red peppers, celery, garlic, chicken broth, egg, noodles, and scallion.

Caldero has opened in McGregor Square. It has indoor/outdoor dining and is inspired by rural Mexican architecture. The menu is described as “classic, elegantly crafted American Fare.

Carousel, the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical will be performed by the Performance Now Theatre Company at the Lakewood Cultural Center.

 

Chocolate Lab is back and has re-opened a new location at 3rd and Holly in the Hilltop neighborhood. Stop in to buy chocolates or stay for craft cocktails and a meal – everything is touched with chocolate in one way or another, for creative savory or sweet sensations.

Chook Chicken has closed its location at Stanley Marketplace, sadly. Visit them at their Birth Street, Platt Park, and Cherry Hills Marketplace locations.

Dazzle Jazz celebrates Women’s History Month: Through the Lens of Jazz throughout the month. The women-centric lineup of instrumentalists, vocalists, and bandleaders includes Monique Brooks Roberts, the ReSound Quintet String Quartet + Voice, and Ritmo Jazz. Denver Jewish Film Festival includes 39 films including nine shorts and one TV mini-series showcasing Israeli and Jewish cinema from 14 countries. The festival runs March 11-19, and will then steam on-demand, March 20-29.

Denver Restaurant Week runs March 3-12 and is your chance to check out new restaurants and return to old favorites with special menus created just for this event at three price points: $25, $35, and $45 for a three-course meal. Reservations book fast so hurry.

Fiddler on the Roof runs March 14-19 at the Buell Theatre, with a fresh version featuring iconic songs such as “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and If I Were a Rich Man.”

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has added a Margarita Shrimp Taco to its menu, available March 1-April 9. Inspired by the brand’s FuzzyRita, it can be had with fried or grilled shrimp, Tajin garlic sauce, green cabbage, fresh lime crema, and a margarita-tomatillo pico made with freshly squeezed lime juice and agave on a flour tortilla, all topped with feta and cilantro, and garnished with a Tajin-salted lime wedge.

Hop Alley has brought back their popular Live Dungeness Crab meal, offering it it nightly. Choose between Hong Kong Style, Singapore Chili or Typhoon Shelter.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Corned Beef Nachos, Chorizo Verde Fundido and other Mexican / Irish twists will be served at Kachina Cantina March 11-17.

Jovanina’s Broken Italian is offering a specialty wine flight for $29 throughout the month in honor of Women’s History Month. The Ladies of Italy flight features three varietals from Italian women winemakers.

St. Patrick’s Fun – Lucky Leprechaun Shake at Next Level Burger features house-made organic soy or organic coconut soft-serve ice cream hand spun with organic mint, house-made organic gluten-free chocolate cookies and vegan marshmallows. This green shake is topped with all-natural edible green and gold glitter for extra sparkle.

St. Patrick’s Fun – Lucky Mint Green Shake at Slater’s 50/50 is a green mint flavored ice cream milkshake in a frosting rimmed glass with Lucky Charm marshmallows, rainbow stripe sour strips, whipped cream and green sprinkles.

Middleman has a new cocktail menu including the Little Lad with berry-infused gin, cream, bacanora, and berry simple syrup and the My Scoville Romance with chili-infused mezcal, lime, activated charcoal, tamarind and glitter simple syrup.

St. Patrick’s Fun – Music City Hot Chicken has a Luck of the Potato Sando special this March. Get crispy chicken thigh or tempeh with housemade sauerkraut, shreeded Irish potatoes, a slice of Swiss cheese and Russian sauce on a brioche bun.

Native Foods launched their spring menu, running through mid-June, featuring comfort food like Loaded Baked Potato Soup, an Italian Cold Cut Sandwich, and the VeggRibb, a house-made, plant-based riblet with bbq sauce, onion, pickle and toasted baguette. They also have a Cubano Sandwich special in Marchh and a $3.03 Oatmeal Cream Pie on March 3, 303 Day.

Paper Fashion Show tickets are on sale now for this April 13 event. The fundraiser features gorgeous designs made 90% from paper. You won’t believe what the designers are able to do.

Rush Bowls has opened on Blake Street. The Colorado-based blended bowl and smoothie brand has items including the Beach Bowl, Yoga Bowl, and Hangover Cure Smoothie, all made with real, fresh fruit.

Sofia’s Roman Pizza will be opening in March, near the corner of Wazee and 16th. The square pizza spot is inspired by the idea of travel through the eyes of a 20-something optimist exploring Italy for the first time.

Spade & Spoon, which sources first from local ranchers, farmers, and producers, will create Irish meals for you to serve on St. Patrick’s Day. Order between March 3-9 for delivery on March 13. Meals include Guiness and Beef Stew, Irish Beef Pasties, Irish Soda Bread, and Irish Apple Cake.

Spot Prawn are on the menu at Water Grill. Larger than typical shrimp and often a little sweeter and crisper, they can be enjoyed in spot prawn nigiri complete with crispy shrimp atama and white soy nikiri and steamed spot prawns served with black olive tapenade, toasted quinoa, and citrus salad.

Stella’s Cucina is open in Boulder, bringing elegant Italian food plus late-night music and dancing. The restaurant is co-owned by restaurateur Stella Spanu and the menu is prepared by Executive Chef Filippo Piccini. Stay tuned for our review of this restaurant.

St. Patrick’s Fun – Thirsty Lion Gastropub will serve an authentic Irish menu and special events from March 2-17. On the 17th, there will be traditional Irish music, entertainment including bagpipes and Irish Dancing.

Viva Abejas is a special menu/philanthropic campaign by Toro and Tamayo, centered around helping the world’s bee population. Running March 21-April 22, menu specials are plant-based and incorporate edible flowers, bee pollen, honey, avocado, and other bee-centric products.

St. Patrick’s Fun – Who’s Your Paddy Boozy Milkshake is available March 4-17 at The Original. It features a mix of vanilla ice cream, crème de menthe, Irish whiskey, Irish cream liqueur, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

tick, tick…BOOM runs March 17-April 23 at the Vintage Theatre. Set in 1990, this compelling story of personal discovery is a rock musical with a blend of musical theatre styles.

Yardbird will be opening a location in RiNo come June. But first, we’re getting a taste of the restaurant with a menu takeover at sister concept CHICA Aspen, in Aspen, from March 7-April 30.

Youth on Record, the organization offering music-centered programs to empower young creators, partners with Nocturne all month to help benefit their 5th Annual Music Matters in March campaign. For every reservation made or Summer in the Sangres cocktail sold, Nocturne will donate $1.

March 2
Boulder International Film Festival, running March 2-5, includes entertaining and thought-provoking films, parties, and special events. There will be 66 films including 13 from Colorado filmmakers.

CineCHEF features some of Denver’s and Boulder’s best chefs in a culinary showdown. They’ll make Boulder International Film Festival film-inspired dishes for attendees to enjoy with drinks and music.

FlyteCo Brewing is having a four-day anniversary party for its first location. Running March 2-5, there will be four beer releases, a karaoke Friday, DJ Saturday, and Sunday hangover brunch.

Keystone Festival Line-Up will be announced and tickets will go on sale. Some of our favorite festivals happen there including the Bacon and Bourbon Festival, Wine and Jazz Festival, and Bluegrass and Beer Festival.

Wine Club Flight Sessions: Northern Italian Delights occurs at Noble Riot. It’s a great chance to try out Wine Club membership brings. This month, somms have selected three wines from Northern Italy.

March 3 – 303 Day
303 Day at Rhein Haus and Wally’s celebrates Denver price with specials all day including $3.03 Miller Lite pints, $3.03 Coors Light pints and $3.03 Outlaw Lagers.

SAME Café Chef Takeover + Gala runs from 11am-2:3-pm, giving diners the chance to taste the creations of Chef Jeff Schwing of Chez Maggy. The two-course menu features soup and salad options including French Onion Soup or Heirloom Grain Salad, with a second-course pizza option of either Caramelized Onion Tarte Flambee or Pizza Provencale. Guests can either volunteer time, give produce, or donate money (no set minimum) in exchange for a meal.

March 5
Acoustic Brunch at Catbird Kitchen marks the first of these monthly brunches that includes a live acoustic music set. After brunch, head to the roof to enjoy all-day happy hour from The Red Barber.

Flexi-verse is an immersive yoga class the Meow Wolf’s first of The Perplexiplex that includes a live DJ set and all-levels of yoga flow.

Mateo, in Boulder, begins serving brunch and will continue to serve it both Saturday and Sunday with a refreshed menu that features familiar favorites and new creations plus coffee service, craft cocktails, and mimosas.

March 6
Learn Sign Language at The Infinite Monkey Theorem is a no-experience-necessary crash course taught by deaf teacher, Kelly McCrary. There will be a class March 6 and March 27. A minimum $5 donation is appreciated and goes to the teacher.

Tzedakah 4 Kids (T4K) is the annual crowdfunding fundraiser to benefit the Robert E. Loup Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid for families to attend the JCC Denver’s Early Learning School and summer camp programs at Camp Shai, JCC Ranch Camp and Wolf Theatre Academy.

March 8
Women in their Infinite Forms is a Women’s History Month event happening at Denver Milk Market. An Art Strut happens on the 9th with drinks from Blanchard Family Wines.

March 9
Breckenridge Wine Classic
tickets go on sale for the event that happens Aug. 23-25. The festival has a Grand Tasting, seminars, guided hike, wine pairing lunch and dinners.

Humboldt Kitchen + Bar is hosting a 4-course Cocktail Pairing Dinner featuring Colorado’s Woody Creek Distillers to introduce new seasonal menu items. This is a preview of a new seasonal menu that will be released in early May.

Legally Blonde – The Musical runs March 9-11 at The Lincoln Center in Ft. Collins. The tribute to Girl Power is based on the iconic movie.

SAME Table is the annual fundraiser for SAME (So All May Eat) Café, held at Space Gallery. There will be bites from local chefs, two bars, live musical entertainment, a paddle-raise auction, and creative space with family-friendly activities.

March 11
St. Patrick’s Day Fun –
2023 Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the annual tradition of floats, parades, silliness, and Irish pride through the streets of downtown.

2023 Downtown Lakewood BEER FEST heads to the Roaring 20s in theme, with unlimited sipping on beer, cider, and distilleries. There’ll also be a live DJ, swing dance lessons, food trucks, photo booth, and more.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Moo Bar, inside Denver Milk Market, will be serving a Mint-ini, a special green cocktail made with Crème de Menthe and Crème de Cacao.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Party Like a  Piñata at Federales with a brunch bash. Tickets include four drinks, a food buffet and a chance to score big in a March Madness raffle.

YWCA Boulder County’s 2023 gala is the organization’s fundraiser to support their mission to eliminate racism and empower and honor women. There will be cocktail hour, dinner, award ceremony, and auction.

March 12
The White Chip is a staged reading of Sean Daniels’ funny play about his personal journey from addiction to recovery.

March 14 – Pi Day
Pie Dog
is the delivery- and pickup-only pizza concept operating out of Boulder’s Farow restaurant. They also serve dessert pies so get sweet and savory options.

March 16
Silver Oak Wine Pairing Dinner with Vintner Tim Duncan is the celebration of The Fort’s 60th Anniversary. The five-course menu includes Rocky Mountain Oysters Rockefeller, a charcuterie platter, buffalo tenderloin and chocolate negrita.

St. Patrick’s Day Responsible Fun – The Aurora Police Department will offer a safe ride home from Stanley Marketplace March 16-18 if you live within 10 miles of the city limits. They will also have breathalyzers to test your blood alcohol content before you get behind the wheel.

March 17
Happy Hour at Corrida begins on March 17, running from 3-5pm daily. Enjoy $2 discounts on all food, beer, and cocktails from the Tapas menu.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Los Chingones is rolling out three themed specials, available only through March 19: the O’Chingo Taco with corned beef, slaw, fries, and cheddar on a tortilla; Who’s Your Paddy?!, a green margarita with cucumber, serrano pepper and cilantro, and Irish Nacho Fries with queso, corned beef and jalapenos.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Stanley Marketplace has a day of fun planned with a performance by Wick School of Irish Dance at noon. Cheluna Brewing Co. has a green cerveza for the holiday that you can enjoy while listening to music onsite.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – Table Mountain Grill & Cantina has a Corned Beef Taco plate special paired with a Social Irish-Style Red Ale on draft. The meal features poblano kraut, thousand island aioli, and fresh jalapenos.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun – The Denver Central Market hosts the Celtic Steps Irish Dancers. Enjoy green foods like Pesto Rigatoni, St. Patty’s Day-themed bonbons, and Irish Coffee served by various vendors in the market.

March 18
The Source Hotel + Market Hall
hosts a Night Market at which you can shop 21 different vendors who are all making locally-made goods and goodies including Bjorn’s Honey Co., Baby Jess Art, Reunion Bread, and Nourish CBD.

March 19
Whiskey Dinner, in partnership between Stoke & Rye at The Westin Riverfront and Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, serves four courses paired with whiskey. The menu includes Beef Tartare, Fig & Burrata Salad, Lamb Shank, and Bread Pudding.

March 20
Postino WineCafé  opens its Boulder location right on the Pearl Street Mall. Each Colorado location has something iconic about it and this one will be about whimsey and nostalgia with hundreds of pairs of reclaimed roller skates, in homage to the scene in the “Mork & Mindy” sitcom when Robin Williams’ Mork skates down the pedestrian mall.

March 21
Bodied Aerobics
class is a partnership between The Source Wellness Series and Bodied Denver. The class will be followed by happy hour at The Woods. The class combines strength training, step aerobics, and stability work.

La Bouche Sip & Script has you learning modern calligraphy while you sip wine. Each ticket includes instruction and demonstration time, a beginner calligraphy kit, all materials to write on, plus Easter-themed tags to personalize.

Mindful Looking, at the Denver Art Museum, encourages you to slow down and spend time with a single work of art, discovering overlooked details, posing questions and exploring ideas. To celebrate Women’s History Month, March’s work is Elaine de Kooning’s bold abstract painting, Bullfight. Join in person or via Zoom.

March 22
“Women in Their Infinite Forms” is Athena Project’s latest program designed to uplift women artists. Led by Rohini Gupta with art curated by Angela Astle and Anne Myers in collaboration with Maggie Pryde of Dairy Block and Olivia Moffett of Denver Milk Market.

March 24
Seven Falls
opens for its 140th season. Located near The Broadmoor Hotel, the area is known for its beautiful waterfalls, striking canyon rock formations, and wildlife, visitors to the park can also enjoy regionally-inspired, wood-fired cuisine at restaurant 1858 or savor treats from the 1858 Food Truck. Season passes will be available starting April 2.

Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey unlocks its Vault to the public for one weekend, March 24-27, giving guests the unique opportunity taste and explore four hand-selected, retired whiskeys from the Stranahan’s Whiskey Lounge.

The Ladies of Jazz, featuring vocalist Heidi Schmidt, presented by the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra is held in Parker. Hear tunes honoring iconic women including Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nancy Wilson.

Disco Night
happens at Ace Eat Serve with live DJ music featuring DJ Bao and drink specials harkening to the 1970’s. Come dressed in your 70’s best for the possibility at a free Blue Hawaiian Shot.

May 26
Mavens of Movies at The Maven Hotel is showing Jurassic World Dominion for $10 which includes the movie, popcorn, and candy.

March 27
Learn Sign Language at The Infinite Monkey Theorem

March 28
Mile High Dreams Gala – A Toast to Our Teams is hosted by players, coaches, mascots, dancers, and alumni from the Nuggets, Avalanche, Mammoth, and Rapids. There will be elaborate food tastings, drinks, and more. Proceeds benefit the community programs supported by Kroenke Sports Charities.

March 30
Bowl of ‘Zole is a tasting event that has been very popular in Brooklyn and has now come to Denver. Spotlighting heritage Pozole and celebrating the culture of agave spirits, the event combines mezcal aficionados and 12 of Denver’s most celebrated chefs including Troy Guard and Dana Rodriguez.

Colorado Symphony Orchestra with Cleo Parker Robinson Dance is a joint performance three years in the making. Selections from iconic works including Porgy and Bess, Carmen, Aida, and Firebird, will be performed.

March 31
Little Man Ice Cream, Central Park
