Banomanom food truck owner, Sarah
Meet Sarah, owner of Banomanom.

The Ba-Nom-a-Nom Food truck for CCEATS.Sarah Ladley, owner and founder of the Ba-Nom-a-Nom food truck:

Q: What kind of food does your food truck serve?

A: “Nice Cream” – a healthy 100% fluffed and whipped fruit alternative to ice cream.

Q: How did you come to get into this business?

A:  I have my degree in public health and nutrition and used to make nice cream for my friends in college.  We joked about me selling it one day… and now… with my passion for nutrition, obesity prevention, and food, I proudly own Ba-Nom-a-Nom. I started the business in 2011 when I was 23. I originally had a store in mind, but the truck seemed like a lower risk way to see if people liked the product.  This is our 7th season on the streets! I am planning to have two trucks active this summer. Maybe a store one day…

Q: Are there any little-known facts about you or your food truck you’d like to share?

A: Lots of them actually!! But a few: 1. we compost all of our food waste, last year we had 26,000 lbs of compost. 2. We have a partnership with Sample Supports- a supported employment program for adults with disabilities 3. Everything on the truck is Dairy Free (vegan), and Gluten Free (except the granola… for now). 4. This is a 100% female owned company! 5. I really did start this business from scratch, and seeing it evolve over the years has been really cool.  I laugh sometimes now at the things that stressed me out the first few years. 6. This is my 2nd full season doing the truck full time, I had another job for the first 5 years.  I had thyroid cancer (runs in my family) in 2015, so was really grateful to have good health insurance!

Q: What is your favorite dish on your menu?

A: Classic Banana with Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chips.

Q: What is your favorite food truck other than your own?

A: Honestly, I have sooo many, so here is my top 5 list – 1. Roll it Up Sushi (so good, and Matt and I are good friends!!) 2. Wong Way Veg 3. Baba’s Falafel 4. Keenwah CO 5. La Chiva
