Ongoing Events In Good Taste in August

2025 Denver Parade of Homes, presented by Keas Concrete Coatings, gives attendees the chance to see the latest trends, designs and technology for the home from Aug. 7-24. For three weekends, go on a free self-guided tour of 67 new model and custom homes from Longmont to Castle Rock and Arvada and Aurora. 

Been there, loved that Ace Escape: A Tiki Takeover is a month-long escape to the islands in the city. Ace Eat Serve has transformed their patio into a tiki-topical oasis with decor and a food and drink menu to match. Enjoy a pu-pu-style Tropical Temptation platter for the table with tempura soft shell crab char siu ribs and more; Kalua Pork Bao; Rum Cake and drinks like the Lei Me Down Easy, Rum Forrest Rum and Scorpion Bowl for four.

Assassins opens at the Miners Alley Performing Arts Center. The Tony Award-winning play looks at the American dream gone sideways. It looks at some of the darkest chapters in American history through a lens that’s theatrical, insightful and unforgettable.

Beethoven and Brews at the ‘Plex is Sept. 6 at the Denver Performing Arts Complex event tickets are available now. The event includes unlimited sample pours from local and national breweries, food from local food trucks and a concert by Colorado Symphony Ensembles.

NEWS Benzina Italian, in an effort to survive the current restaurant climate, has re-opened with a lower-priced menu that includes Spaghetti & Meatballs for $20, Chicken Parm for $20 and pizzas for $16-$19. They are located on Colfax, amidst all the construction so park on the side streets and check them out.

Boulder County Fair 2025 in Longmont, runs Aug. 6-10. There’ll be rodeos, a demolition derby, carnival rides, livestock shows, live music and fair foods. 

NEWS BOXBOX has opened, starting with pick-up or delivery on August. 1. Group or catering orders can be scheduled for pick–up or delivery within a 5-mile radius of their East Colfax Ave. location. They offer a few size boxes of chicken salads, pasta salads, and veggie salads and are ideal for groups 4-18 people. This fall they will be launching individual sized boxes with in-store order and dining.

 NEWS Briar Patch has opened in Denver. Behind it is the team from Briar Common Brewery + Eatery. The menu features American cuisine with a global angle. It’s open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. 

Bright Nights returns to Four Mile Historic Park. The creative lantern festival experience has themes of Farmhouse Flora and Fauna, Chinese Dreamland and more than 40 larger-than-life sculptures. The event is July 19, July 23-Oct. 5 with a VIP party on the 19th.

Buntport Theater is the site of Coming Together: A HOLDTIGHT Performance Party. Part fundraiser, part immersive experience, there will be food and drink and performances from the group’s recent repertory. 

NEWS Ceci! Italian Lounge is slated to open later this year at The Source Hotel. The second-floor lobby cocktail bar is a project of Chef Alon Shaya of Safta and Pomegranate Hospitality. 

NEWS Chef Ricardo Mirón has been named the new chef de cuisine at Toro by Chef Richard Sandoval. A native of Veracruz, Mirón has more than a decade of experience in popular restaurants in Philadelphia and New York.

NEWS Chef’n It, is a new show on YouTube, debuting Sept. 10, spotlights the chefs, restaurants and cuisine that shape Colorado’s culinary scene. Each monthly episode features a local Executive Chef preparing a modified version of one of their restaurant’s favorite dishes home cooks can copy at home. Season 1 chefs include Carrie Baird of Fox and The Hen, Kenta Kamo of Temaki Den and Erasmo Casiano of Lucina Eatery and Bar. The show is created by Behind the Apron Media and hosted by the company’s own Tarah Runco. 

Colorado Ballet begins their 65th season ticket sales for productions starting in October. Get tickets for Dracula, The Nutcracker, The Great Gatsby, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Master Works. 

Colorado Shakespeare Festival runs through August 10 on various dates. This year, the plays are Richard II and The Tempest. 

Colorado State Fair is Aug. 22-Sept. 1 in Pueblo, with rodeo, exhibits, parade, monster trucks, demolition derby, a carnival, state fair food, World Slopper Eating Championship, lots of free concerts plus Flo Rida with special guest Chamillionaire and other national/international acts.

Concerts on the Fly take place on the plaza between the Westin Hotel and Jeppesen Terminal and Denver International Airport. The concerts are Sundays through Aug. 31 at 1:30pm. They are free with registration on Eventbrite. Performers include Nelson Rangell, Eric Darius and Rose Royce. 

NEWS Dear Emilia will be the name of Restaurant Olivia’s new concept that will be located inside the ground floor of The Current office building in RiNo. The restaurant is a love letter to Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. It is expected to open late this year or early next. 

DJ Saturdays with New York’s DJ Dr. Fazz happen at Le Bilboquet every Saturday for brunch. Enjoy brunch specials, cocktails and dancing. 

Gather ‘Round tickets are available now for the October 2 event that is the annual Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) fundraiser. The evening includes a multi-course plant-based meal by The Easy Vegan, silent and live auction, live music and more.

NEWS Hai Si has officially opened in Aspen with Executive Chef Yoshi Okai. Menu items include Miyazaki A5 Wagyu, Grilled Akashi Octopus, Shishito Margarito and much more.

Heritage Fire Snowmass tickets are on sale for the Aug. 2 culinary event. The live-fire, open-air tasting experience features Colorado chefs. The list includes Patrick Kennedy of La Fillette Bakery, Jake Burkhardt of Rock Island Oyster Bar & Grill, Keith Theodore of The Little Nell and Eddie Chimal of Venga Venga.

High Point Creamery is having the Summer of Sorbet at their shops, with fruit-forward sorbets including Watermelon Tajin, Mango and Lavender Lemonade flavors. 

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has opened in Boulder. All orders are taken via a touch screen and then delivered via a conveyor built. They also serve noodle bowls, soup, sides and dessert. This is the first Colorado location of the worldwide chain.

NEWS Le Palais Frites is a new dining option located at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa. The limited-time pop-up serves a three-course prix fixe menu for $49. 

Leven Supply is serving Palisade peach season specials throughout August include Palisade peach pizza with prosciutto, burrata, basil and balsamic vinegar on sourdough crust. Leven even sells sourdough pizza kits so you can try to make your own version at home. 

Local Jones Sundae Sundays serves up a vintage-style ice-cream-stand with a twist: guests can build their own over-the-top homemade sundaes through the end of September. 

Maven Hotel Picnic Amenity is a new offering for hotel guests. For $45, order a ready-made picnic basket from the Denver Milk Market with a picnic blanket, bottle of wine with two glasses and a curated selection of snacks. 

Margs & Tacos at Kachina Cantina happen every Monday and Tuesday this summer. On Mondays, it’s BOGO margs all day. On Tuesdays, it’s $3 tacos including cauliflower, carnitas and chicken tacos. 

NEWS Mawa McQueen, chef and entrepreneur will open Crepe Therapy Café in Boulder late this summer. It’s a reimagined, expanded version of her restaurant, Crepe Shack, providing French-inspired comfort food. 

Savannah Bananas Fun McGregor Square celebrates the team with a variety of activations before, during and after both games. Get official merch and gear, watch the game on the Jumbotron with ESPN broadcast feed, enjoy drink specials at Milepost Zero Food Hall, served in limited-edition commemorative Savannah Bananas cups. The fun is Aug. 8-10. 

NEWS Mecha Noodle Bar has a new summer menu for food and drink including The Laos Crispy Pork with coconut sticky rice and pickled veggies; the Mala Stir Fry; a Banana Matcha Latte and a new kids’ menu. $0.50 from every ramen bowl goes toward local nonprofits through their Eat Justice initiative, supporting their mission to drive purpose in everything they do. 

Mining Exchange Hotel has partnered with The ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy to debut an all-new “Legacy of the West” Experience. Book at least 14 days in advance and get tickets and a tour to the Museum, private roping lessons, “Desert Wind” Western-inspired facial at MX Spa and a specialty infused cocktail at Golden Hour.

NEWS Molino Chido appears to be the name of a new Mexico City-inspired taqueria opening later this fall at the Stanley Marketplace in the former space of Comida. It is owned by star chefs Michael Diaz de Leon and Tommy Lee. 

Moulin Rouge! The Musical plays at the Buell Theatre, Aug. 6-17. The winner of 10 Tony Awards® is Baz Luhrmann’s vision remixed for the stage. It’s the story of life, love and business in the glamorous but gritty side of Paris.

Mushroom Festival, Aug. 13-17, in Telluride, celebrates the mighty mushroom from its science to their famous wild foods dinner demo. 

Music in the Gardens is a lunchtime series at the 17th Street Gardens, every day, 11:30am-1:30pm. 

Nocturne celebrates Denver’s jazz history, which includes its reputation from the 1930’s and 1960’s as “Harlem of the West,” with a flight of four handcrafted cocktails inspired by a pivotal era in jazz history plus recipes and historical tidbits for each. Palisade Peach Cheesecake from Sweet Action sources from Morton’s Organic Orchards in Palisade and mixes the stone fruit with house-baked cobbler and cheesecake. Get it while supplies last at any of Sweet Action’s four Denver scoop shops. 

Palisade Peaches take center stage on the menu at Ambler including the Peaches & Cheese Manchego cheese soup with diced peaches; Peach, Please cocktail; and Peach Aqua Fresca mocktail.

 NEWS Pig and Tiger opens their first brick-and-mortar location this summer at 2200 California Street after being located in both Avanti locations.

Raizado Festival is Aug. 21-24. The celebration of Latine culture brings together changemakers, innovators and leaders from the U.S. and beyond. The event, held in Aspen, will include masterclasses, panels & fireside chats, food, drink and more. A highlight will be a hands-on birria masterclass led by chef and culinary entrepreneur Claudette Zepeda.

SKY FLAMES is an original sculptural artwork located in the north entryway of Stanley Marketplace. Created by Colorado artist Diana Merkel, it is a preview of the Aurora Borealis Festival in Aurora in October.

Snooze unveils its freshly-fueled menu that’s being tested in Denver at its Ballpark, Union Station, South Broadway and Colorado Blvd. locations. The “healthy-ish” options include a mango smoothie, Thai chicken salad sandwich and crisp green apple and fennel salad. The menu is available for a limited time.

Stranahan’s has a special cocktail throughout August called Palisade Peach Whiskey Smash made from Palisade peaches and Stranahan’s Colorado-distilled American single malt whiskey. They are donating 100% of proceeds from sales at its Denver distillery and Aspen Whiskey Lodge to The Greenway Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing and protecting Colorado’s urban waterways. 

Summer Spritz Pop-Up at Punch Bowl Social runs through Sept. 1. In partnership with Aperol, enjoy a variety of spritzes, festive decor, swag giveaways, a silent disco and deals. 

Sunday Family Game Night brings a 22” cheese or pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad and sodas for four for $40 or two burgers and two grilled cheese sandwiches with fries or tots and four sodas for $40 all at Denver Milk Market. Also, Kids Eat Free with the purchase of an adult entree from 5-close every Tuesday. 

Sweet & Lucky: Echo premiers on Aug. 13 at DPA Off-Center’s Broadway Park. The 360-degree immersive theater experience invites audiences to experience shared remembrance, love and loss through a warehouse full of memories and vignette’s of a couple’s life. The experience runs through Oct. 5. 

Telluride Jazz Festival runs Aug. 8-10 in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. With performances day and night, the music is blended with the natural aesthetics. 

Temper is creating Back to School Treats. There are PB&J or apple bonbons (2-piece box for $7.50), a filled bar with an espresso martini ganache ($14) and pure chocolate “pencils” ($5 for two).

The ART Hotel Denver celebrates its 10th anniversary with a “Bold Anniversary” Room Package plus Chef’s Table Dinners in July and August all benefitting Art from Ashes. 

The Brunch Club at Wonderyard Garden + Table, happens every Saturday and Sunday. Bottomless mimosas, brunch drinks and classic brunch food items are served. 

NEWS The Local Drive Cocktail Bar & Golf, owned by golf enthusiast and entrepreneur Winston Manley, is open at Stanley Marketplace. The indoor golf facility, encompassing two levels, has a cocktail bar and 12 Trackman-powered bays. 

NEWS Toro by Chef Richard Sandoval has something new to nosh on. The Angry Scorpion Roll is made with spicy tuna, crab, avocado, cucumber and sesame topped with a bump of caviar.

Truly Colorado Summer Specials can be had through Sept. 30 at The Fort. Inspired by mountain man cuisine and Native American traditions, try barbeque pork ribs with rattlesnake and rabbit bratwurst served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies for example. 

Urban Market is an open-air marketplace in front of Union Station. Discover local arts and crafts sold directly by the artist, including clothing, jewelry, antiques, furniture and more. There will also be live music by Donnie Young. The Market runs Aug. 9, 10, 16, 17 and Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26. 

Wynkoop Brewing Company is launching a weekday deal starting Aug. 1. From 11am-2pm, Monday-Friday, diners can get a burger, fries and pint of beer for $15. 

Yampa Valley Crane Festival, held Aug. 28-31 in Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Craig includes speakers, bird walks, viewings, art, live birds, films and family activities.

August 1 – Happy 149th, Colorado + Happy #NationalSpritzDay
2nd Anniversary Celebration at Dazzle commemorates the iconic jazz club’s move to the Arts Complex. On Aug. 1-2, hear René Marie & Experiment in Truth. 

Celebrate Swiss National Day with 73 Art Agency for First Friday. The exhibition features Swiss-inspired works by a variety of artists plus antique pieces from local estates.

Colorado Day Celebration at Denver Union Station highlights the role the station has played in Colorado’s history. The event includes A Taste of Union Station culinary promenade with food and beverage pairings. There will also be a LoDo walking tour and free entertainment.

Frequent Flyers’ Aerial Dance Festival Showcase Performance brings together a variety of performers from around the country doing dance trapeze, bungee choreography, stilts, silks, lyra and more. Shows run Aug. 1-3. 

Mai Tai Week at Adrift Tiki Bar continues through Aug. 2. Tiki enthusiasts can enjoy four different renditions of Mai Tai inspired by the drink’s past, present and future.

Market Art Walk at Denver Milk Market honors Colorado Day with an evening celebrating Colorado artists. There will be an art show, live music, food and drink.

National Spritz Day at Punch Bowl Social offers up $10 drinks all day from the limited-edition Summer Spritz menu. Through Sept. 1, you can also get the $59.99 Summer Pass for two hours of karaoke, two games of bowling and unlimited access to other games.

Soiled Doves: The Working Women of Colorado’s Boom Days is a presentation about the day-today life and influence of the women of the Wild West.

Colorado Day is celebrated with free admission to the History Colorado Center, Center for Colorado’s Women History, El Pueblo History Museum, Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center and Ute Indian Museum.

Crown Burgers celebrates the owner’s life with 77-cent ¼ lb. burgers from 5-7pm (limit two burgers per person while supplies last). It’s in honor of 38 years in business and the life of George Brokalakis who recently passed away at the age of 77.

August 8
Savannah Bananas Fun Bananas on the Block welcomes the team to Denver with a collection of events Aug. 8-10 including The Yellow Fix pop-up with reimagined banana pudding, a hotel special at The Maven, Bananoke karaoke, frozen chocolate-covered bananas, a Disco Banana Class and other fun. 

CinemaQ Film Festival runs Aug. 8-10 celebrating queer voices, vision and visibility through more than 20 features, shorts, special events and parties.

National Frozen Custard Day gets celebrated at Good Times Burgers & Frozen Custard. Guests can get a free scoop of vanilla or flavor-of-the-month custard starting at 10:30am. One/per person/purchase. 

SAME Cafe x Champagne Tiger Takeover is a special collaboration lunch with a menu featuring asparagus soup with croutons, roasted cauliflower with chimichurri, summer vegetable risotto, and braised pork belly over rice.

August 9
Savannah Bananas Fun Ambler is offering themed treats and drinks including house-made banana cupcakes topped with caramel Chantilly cream and caramelized banana and a Chunky Monkey cocktail. 

Colorado Brazil Fest in Boulder brings an evening of live music and dance celebrating Brazilian culture. Hear Gisele Duquè perform samba, soul, and swing; dance performances by Samba Colorado and Escola de Samba Denver; singer and dancer Dandha da Hora joined by Ginga band and Bateria Alegria.

Garden Night Library: A Summer Evening of Books & Community at The Benson Hotel is in partnership with Aurora Public Library. Inspired by Seoul’s beloved night library tradition, bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a serene reading sanctuary. Browse and borrow books. August 13

Crafts & Cocktails, a joint venture of The Orchard Town Center and Whimsy Paint & Sip, takes place in the Sunken Plaza where Whimsy’s instructors will guide painters of all skill levels through a fun and creative session. Tickets include a 2-hour painting session, all materials and one complimentary beverage. Additional drinks will be available for purchase. The event also happens on Aug. 27.

August 15
Around the World in 7 Wines at Stoke & Rye is a seven-course wine dinner created by Chef Angel Munoz Jr. Each course is paired with a wine from a different region including France, Spain, Argentina and others. 

Broderick opens in Denver’s Wash Park neighborhood on Gaylord Street with an opening weekend Aug. 15-16. It’s a project of Broderick & Company, the team behind Uncle Tim’s Cocktails brand. Regular hours begin on Aug. 19.

NEWS Town Pump Provisions opens in Cherry Creek North serving food, curated essentials and Little Man Ice Cream treats. Town Pump is a 3-part destination with a Town Pump Bodega for local produce, house-made almond milk, caviar, snacks and even basics like TP and Oreos; Town Pump Eatery, a scratch-made, grab-and-go restaurant; and Little Man Ice Cream in its 11th location.

August 16
After Dark: Evening Bazaar is the last such event of the summer, curated by Fireside at Five. Shop 15 unique artisan vendor makers including ceramics, clothing, jewelry and prints. There will also be DJ sets and immersive art.

BASECAMP Market Station celebrates adventure film, movement, outdoor gear and community. This event will feature Boulder-based professional climber Kai Lightner and three world-premiere Reel Rock 19 climbing films, paired with food from Borderless Food Trucks and drinks by Sipp Hospitality Marketing.

Colorado Fall Home Show is Aug. 16=17 at the Colorado Convention Center. There will be more than 200 exhibitors of interior design, remodeling, landscaping, sustainable living and more. There will also be 1:1 consultations with Denver interior designers and other special happenings. 

Mountain Town Food Festival in Keystone features the best of Keystone’s food and drink offerings plus live music on four stages. Ticket options include five different packages to cater the experience to attendees’ tastes. 

Muu-Muus & Margaritas is a celebration of the summer Tiki Popup at Ace Eat Serve. There’ll be margarita flights all afternoon and a drag show featuring Minor Misdemeanor, Freya Misdemeanor and Kourtney Kay West. Dress in your best Muu-Muu. 

Next Level Veggie Burger transforms into Next Level Veggie Grill, with more than 50 new menu items, still 100% vegan.

Bluegrass on the Green features Sister Sadie and The Cody Sisters is the final concert of the year at the Museum of Outdoor Arts.

Four Hands Dinner with Chef Frank Bonanno and Chef Richard Sandoval offers a tasting menu and new additions to Tamayo’s new menu.

Loire Valley Wine Dinner at Bistro Vendome is $125/person and includes Clam Pissaladiere, Duck Breast au Poivre and Cherry & Strawberry Tart with each course paid with a Loire Valley wine.

Sunset & Saffron celebrates golden hour with a Spanish-themed event on the rooftop at Kisbee on the Roof. There will be Spanish-inspired tapas, sangria, cava and an Ibiza-style DJ set in a coastal atmosphere.

Breckenridge Hogfest Bacon & Bourbon Festival is Aug. 22-24 with a pairing dinner, grand tasting and Sunday brunch, all celebrating the glories of the hog. And bourbon. 

We’re going, are you? Polaris Pour: Bourbon at the Gate takes place at Hotel Polaris in Colorado Springs, Aug. 22-24. The inaugural bourbon and whiskey weekend combines whiskey information, tasting, immersion and culinary treats. There are special overnight offers that combine lodging and tickets or you can purchase event tickets only.

 August 23
Been there, loved that 2025 Denver Summer Whiskey Tasting Festival includes samples of more than 20 whiskeys, some education from the pros, food and drink specials, plus DJ tunes to dance to. There is only a limited number of tickets available and they go fast.

The Cherry Cricket opens its newest location, this time in Broomfield at 1280 E. 1st Avenue. The nearly 8,500-square-foot space has a covered patio, Burger Garden and seating for more than 325 guests. This fourth location in Colorado marks the start of the restaurant’s 80th year.

August 26 – National Dog Day
Crafts & Cocktails happens again. See Aug. 13. 

National Dog Day BARKfast Club at Zorba’s serves pooches a menu made just for them like the Chicken & Woofles (topped with unseasoned shredded chicken) and Scramble & Sit (two scrambled eggs lightly cooked and unseasoned). The menu is served from 8-11am and during Yappy Hour from 3-6pm. Pups are encouraged to wear their Zorba’s bandanas or get one that day.

National Dog Day at Good Times gets doggies a free Pawbender with any purchase. The Pawbender is a mini serving of frozen custard topped with peanut butter and dog biscuits.

St. Julien Vegan Harvest Dinner is a thoughtfully-crafted menu celebrating a hyper-local harvest, both from their on-site garden to local farm ingredients. The al fresco evening includes a welcome cocktail, passed apps and four-course dinner.

August 27
Bright Nights Adult Night at Four Mile is an adults-only night from 7-11pm with DJ’s, additional activations and a chance to sip and stroll through the blend of luminescent sculptures.

 August 28
Garden Dinner Series from Uchi Denver continues with Sắp Sửa. The team will collaborate with Uchi to create a globally-inspired menu fusing Southeast Asian heritage. 

August 29
DJ Series at Le Colonial brings New York’s DJ Dr. Fazz’s sets to go along with dinner and drinks. 

Downtown Parker Wine Walks is a ticketed event that includes a commemorative glass and map. Visit 12+ area businesses exhibiting on the Parker Station Plaza. Enjoy live music, wine and the charm of the Town of Parker. 

Zorba’s August Wine Down for August has the theme of Argentina and Chile. For $30, guests will enjoy wine from both countries plus complimentary bites including tacos and empanadas. 

August 30
Boulder Art Festival celebrates creativity with more than 100 artisans showcasing a variety of works. The event runs Aug. 30 and 31.

Keystone’s Oktoberfest includes polka dancers, stein hoisting, concerts and loads of food and drink.

Pride Pop-Up Market & Drag Show at Vanishing West Ciders includes tunes by DJ Naster. Drink features are Cider Jello shots and To-go Slushies.

Summer DJ Brunch Series at Le Bilboquet, from 11am-2pm, brings the sounds of DJ Dr. Fazz along with the regular brunch menu.
